REMINDER: DON’T ADVERTISE!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are enjoying all of those great gifts – BUT – we’d like to remind you that those who wish to burglarize your home, will be looking for those big ticket item boxes in your recycling before and after the holidays (i.e. flat screen TV boxes, game console boxes, jewelry boxes etc.).

Please help reduce the chances of your home becoming a target by breaking down the boxes and hold off on putting them in your recycling bin right away!

From last year,
“If you need to put valuables from passenger compartment in your trunk do so prior to your destination parking spot. Waiting until after you park allows criminals to see what they will gain by breaking into your vehicle.
.
Bringing items home, if you can’t unload in a closed attached garage consider covering with blanket so criminal can’t tell what you bought. Especially true if living in a high density setting. Criminals see you bringing home high dollar electronics, they add you to their list of places to rob while you are out.
.
After unboxing of items cut up box to make it harder for criminals to tell what is in your residence. Leaving the empty box next to recycling bin is an invitation to thieves.”
.
Would never do this, a little humor, do not attempt !
Then again if you have the misfortune of living near a neighbor from HE11, you can save cutting up box part and put empty box out next to their bin on garbage day.
.
If you have a vehicle with those silly keyless ignition,
ALWAYS, ALWAYS lock vehicle when getting gas.
You’ll look awfully silly as criminal, who hopped into drivers seat drives off as you’re standing there holding the gas nozzle.
