This is a “10 Gallon Club” card, which was passed out at local A&W restaurants a long, long time ago.

This one was from the Pleasant Hill location at 1959 Contra Costa Blvd.

..yes, and their burgers weren’t bad then either

I certainly remember A&W.

Little better than a frosty cold A&W root beer during a road side stop on a sizzling summer California road trip

@Gititogether
Very little. 🙂

My dad used to take us miniature golfing on Clayton Road followed by a yummy meal at A&W. Frosty mug of draft root beer and Mama Burger for me. The best.

No wonder I was on a continual sugar buzz in those days! (I remember our family buying gallon jugs of the stuff)

Those were the good ole days when you felt same going out and minding your own business.

Anybody else’s Dad make a big production out of the placement of the food tray on the window?

@FPN….No big production from my Dad, “not going to put that tray on our the ’59 Bonneville, no way, no how”. Besides, we only lived a couple of blocks from the one on Market St., we were in the 10 gal. club when it came in waxed cardboard container like the one in the ad.

WOW! nytemuvr… I am looking at a old black & white photo on my wall of Grandpa’s ’59 Bonneville… What a car!
Long and sleek with those big fins on the tail.
Grandpa knew it was a cool car too… he felt like a King when he cruised around .. I could feel the vibe.
Man I loved that car, but alas I was too young to drive when when dear old Grandpa passed away in 1970 and my cousin drove it away.

That car had the biggest trunk I ever saw.

@Dr Jellyfinger….It was a great cruiser, the best road trips and vacations with my family for sure. The trunk was a 10 body-trunk easily.
