So, here’s today’s question…

Would you rather….Be able to fly (like a bird), or be able to read minds?

Give us your answer, and tell us why.

Talk about it….

Only if it were a Hummingbird

I can already read minds. Many are not a good read.
I would like to be able to fly through a tree, hit no branches and land in a split second from thirty miles an hour.

If flying like a bird includes not feeling the cold, and not getting tired from flapping my wings, then I’d rather fly like a bird, or fly like Superman. As far as reading minds goes, I couldn’t care less what other people are thinking.

Fly like a bird, to get away fast from the crazies. People that pick “Read Minds” are going to be in for a surprise due to the lack of “Minds” in todays humans.

Try to have a little fun once in a while and be happy. God knows in this day and age it’s not easy. I just try a little harder.

Cheers

Amen Simonpure!

Politicians would want to “manage” air space even more than they already do, endless no fly zones. Reading person’s mind, naw, . . .
Besides it’s more entertaining to watch from a distance.

CA DEM politicians, . . . think about it, when was last time any of them gave a genuine heartfelt apology admitting they screwed up ? ? ?
Yup, me neither !

Mind reader because I can pick the situations in my favor when dealing with people (good or bad). That Being able to fly like a bird does give the impression of mindless and freedom but in reality a bird has to be constantly look out for predators (like getting blasted with a shotgun, eagle’s claw out of the sky,..).

.
Definitely read minds…
.
Then I could profit off of CEOs, financial strategists, politicians, and other decision makers, etc.
.
If I read Joe Biden’s mind there would be nothing to report.

I have always wished, since I was a child, that I could fly like a bird! I frankly don’t care what people think, so I have no interest in reading minds! Oh, to be able to spread my wings and fly…..

I’ve always wanted to fly like a bird. In dreams I fly like a human often enough, I can easily will myself up into the air, in an upright or standing position often giving it little to no advance thought, and I’m off to wherever I wish to go. Then if I don’t give enough thought when I decide to land I just fall from wherever I happen to be, and that can get pretty darn rough the higher up I am, and take serious recovery time. More and more in my later years I have remembered to make sure to get closer to the ground before falling out of the sky, it makes for easier landings. The weird thing about the whole thing is that the only way I can land is by falling some distance out of the sky. I don’t seem to have any control over my last 15 to 20 feet of flight. But definitely, I’d really love to fly like a bird.

Astral Projection?

@Silva – Every so often I have a dream similar to yours. In it, I can walk on air, fly like a bird, and I always have a safe landing!

Neither, although I love birds, and certainly being able to fly from tree to tree or area to area must be thrilling, however, I don’t care to fly in airplanes (I still fly though) so I don’t think I would do well. Reading minds would be interesting, but most likely I would be horrified by what some people think, especially what they might think of me.

If you could read minds, what else would you really need?

Think about it

Right now I am looking out the window at a wasp catcher, one of those yellow plastic things, and blankly wondering why I did not get the energy to replace it since it is old and attracts nothing. It is swinging lightly in the wind. It might rain on Wednesday. I should go to the bank and deposit some checks today. There, you just read my mind. Moral of the story, you are better off flying.

Hahaha! Nice.

Fly like a bird. I’ve always been interested in flight and spent my career as an aerospace engineer. Aerodynamics was my favorite subject in college.

Flying. Reading minds sounds great in theory but would absolutely destroy your relationship with people. Everyone has had negative thoughts about someone they love. Many times its just a fleeting thought or temporary due to something that upset you. However, you do know you love that person. Now, imagine reading the mind of someone in one of those moods or having a fleeting thought like that. It would be very hurtful. You also have to think of all the random thoughts a person has and thoughts that never manifest into actions. How do you filter out between intention and careless thought? Being able to read thoughts would cause great distrust in people and would likely make you a miserable person.

Dear god I don’t want to know what’s going on in anyone elses’ headcase more than I already do. You want to read minds? Twitter already exists.

Probably flight. I could at least make a dollar off of that and not lose my soul in the process.

The ability to read minds would certainly improve my poker game, so I’m going with reading minds.

If you can fly like a bird, then you get to poop on the politicians. I pick that one

I can already read minds and don’t like what I see or hear. Being able to fly, on the other hand, would be pretty awesome. No TSA, no baggage fees, and no sardine treatment or mask mandate.

My daughter calls me Gaia, so read minds.

I don’t fly so no birding around for me. And considering some of the stuff that sometimes comes out of human mouths I don’t think I want to read what is also in their minds. I’ll just stay on the ground and read books.

Dorothy, Sounds good to me, I use devour books, I still read, but not as much as I use to. The reading of minds open up a whole can of worms. I actually would like to read minds of babies and small children and animals, especially cats.

Definitely fly. I would not want to be able to read the minds of 85% of the people around me, no good would come from that.

.. fly .. no question… I’d be even more disappointed if I could read minds of others … in many cases it would just read as “vacant” 🙂

When I was younger, I thought being able to read minds would be an amazing skill to have. I am now at the age where I don’t care much at all about what most other people think. I’m also close enough to getting my own wings that I’m in no hurry to rush things along.

Could not agree more….well said.

Read my ex’s mind… then fly!!

“read minds” in the sense where you instantly understand everything about them and their motives? That would create a superpower level of manipulation and you could become the benevolent Emperor of Earth in a matter of a decade.

Screw flying.
