This is a ticket stub from “Net Day ’96”, which was an event that kicked off a drive to connect California public schools to the internet, 29 years ago this year. On March 9, 1996, President Bill Clinton and Vice-President Al Gore visited Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, and spoke to the crowd.

I was working at Round Table and saw the whole procession come through. Then I went back to making pizzas. It wasn’t that big of a deal.

Yes, I went to the event and it was obvious that Clinton exuded charisma and Gore was stiff as a board. Great event to go to – even though I voted for the other team. I still wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to see the POTUS.
