OK.

The following is from the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office:

Today in Martinez, Contra Costa County Supervisors Andersen, Burgis, Gioia, Carlson, District Attorney Becton, her executive team, victim-witness advocates, and Public Defender McDonnell proudly stood in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, which will be observed from April 6-12, 2025. On April 9, the District Attorney’s Office will host the annual Victims’ Rights Recognition Ceremony in Martinez to honor survivors of crime, acknowledge their resilience, and reinforce our community’s commitment to justice and healing. By bringing together victims, advocates, law enforcement, and community members, the ceremony aims to foster a sense of kinship and support, ensuring that those impacted by crime are not forgotten.

So…… this staged event was to prop up Becton because of the recall effort to try and convince dupes that she and everyone is on the victims side. Yeah sure.

Spot on Reasonable. I was going to say the same thing, but you nailed it

This is a result of the depressing CalMatters expose that came out last week on the ktvu website and several news site including here:
‘They didn’t lift a damn finger’: California crime victim fund ordered to change practicesRuby Marichalar didn’t have the money to pay for her son’s funeral after he was stabbed to death in September 2012. Like thousands of Californians every year, she turned for help to a state agency that was created to support survivors of crime.

A picture of people who are elected that do nothing for their constituents…

or these are the people that make you a victim!

I didn’t know that victims had any rights!
I thought it wasv all about the criminals!

Ironic… Since she seems to favor the Criminals… and is not so concerned about the Victims..

If everyone in that photo were to find new jobs outside of government, the citizens of CCC would be a lot better off.

36

The folks in that picture would have difficulty in finding a new job outside of the government. A real professional job requires taking responsibility for your actions and ethics….both lacking in our current DA.

33

So let me get this straight, we gave a national crime victim rights award to a person who refuses to lock criminals up.

The award should say we only care about criminals rights.

Another bunch of stuffed shirts blowing more hot air…

Fresh from the Contra Costa Bureau of Propaganda. 🙄

April 1st isn’t until next Tuesday.

29

No, really. They are dedicating a whole week (and a couple actual in-person hours) to do this for the people they will turn their back on 30 seconds after they leave the ceremony.

Mayor,
I love the question mark at the end of the title.
They’ve recognized the victims rights on this day but what about the other 364 days of the year?
Ah, there goes another question mark.

24

I also appreciated that. Subtle, Mayor. Very Subtle.

Congratulation Victims of Crime! 👏👏👏 You are being honored for surviving (the failures of those you entrusted with your safety) —and when the criminal is set free…they may come after you again.

But worry not…! For you🥇 are now an honored member of the Crime Survivors Club of Contra Costa County.

This has been a National Crime Victims “Rights” Week since 1981?
I’ve never even heard of it.
I can’t believe Becton has the gall to even pose for the picture with her scatty record.
This is supposed to “foster a sense of kinship and support”?
(fail)
If they want to do something significant they could take this opportunity to honor those people in our community that fought back against criminals, a couple of incidents with armed convenience store clerks come to mind.

18

Since when does Becton care about the victims of crime???
She is PRO-CRIMINAL and supports the domestic terrorism group BLM, who are responsible for billions in damages all over a false narrative. It’s about behavior not race.

Too late Becton… should have been doing this all along instead of coddling the perps

Every day should be Victim’s Rights Day.

This is something Becton has forgotten.

Bectons priority is criminal rights, not victim rights.

Diana Becton has rolled out her version of justice reform at the expense of public safety, this is a farce.

overpaid sycophant cronies

They sure look well fed!
