Yes, would love to see another big tax making business added to Concord then more housing developments.

H – E – Double Hockey Sticks! The traffic is bad enough already. At least with the construction on the gas pump install it has calmed down a little. I remember when Costco moved to Concord from Martinez. It was a fustercluck in the making.
Where in this city could handle another one?
Dr. Jellyfinger,
.
Costco wouldn’t be able to sell food if it went into the old Kmart location, so they likely wouldn’t be interested in that location.
Mike Mcdermott,
.
Should they move into the old Price Club location?

No! What we need is a Walmart. I am tired of going to Martinez or Pittsburgh Walmart. Forget the plan to build affordable housing at the old Kmart and let kick Lucky’s out so we can have a Walmart at the location.
You can thank Safeway for blocking a Walmart by Lowe’s in Concord … they funded a citizen’s group claiming ‘traffic” when it was just about locking out competition.
Paul,
.
The Concord City Council has been anti-Walmart for 35 years due to the damage Walmarts do to small businesses.
.
You’re more than welcome to buy Lucky out of their lease, but you still won’t get a Walmart.

I do not think another Costco is needed; they need to expand the parking lot. The employees inside, I have to say, are very good, they keep the check out moving well, and, in my experience, have always been very helpful. The biggest “issue” with that site is a shortage of parking. Open up space for 50-100 more cars…golden.
At one time I thought the Concord Costco was planning on constructing a bridge over the creek and using the empty field at https://maps.app.goo.gl/dbh2MgtFbSezgEmX9 as additional parking. On the other hand, the parking issue tends to be temporary. As @whatever says, if you go early there tends to be plenty of parking in the existing lot.

PRO TIP: go to Costco at 8:15pm. Park right in front, no lines. Then get gas (when it’s open again), nobody in line at 8:45 and they’re open until 9:30.
If you do it like this, Costco is a lonely pleasure.
I was happy when they built the new Costco because it was so much closer than the older ones, but that parking lot always tended to raise my blood pressure and the gas station was always backed up. I think replacing the current Costco with one on a more appropriate lot makes more sense.

How about the Sunvalley shopping center… Lots of Space… PH..WC..MTZ people would likely use that location, which could free up a little of the congestion at Concord..

Out of 604 stores nationwide, the Concord Costco is ranked top 5 in sales (according to 2 different
employees I talked to), and sometimes higher!! As long as there are sales figures like that, I would
guess they would leave it as is.

I just heard from a friend in Brentwood that said there’s a line a mile long around the new store!!
We have one Costco. Why we we need another?

Walmart got locked out by Safeway paying people to claim “traffic” was an “issue.” You still working for Safeway or just first in line for a payout?
Make that H – E – Double Hockeysticks NO! Lol…I got fired up.
Love our Concord Costco. Yes, another one up by Hwy 4 in North Concord would be great. Those poor folks live in a food desert.
Put one where K-Mart is,,, it would be be better than a high rise apartment building.

The one in Pittsburgh is still pretty busy at 8:15pm. So that is not really an accurate statement.
YES! Where the old Kmart used to be on Clayton Rd…
