That’s expensive!

QUESTION: Do you still purchase eggs, or have you held off a bit until prices go down?

Yes, I still buy eggs, Grocery Outlet have a dozen extra large eggs for $7.49, which is a little less than it was a few weeks ago. I was at Sprout’s yesterday and they had eggs at about the same price or just a little more. The last few times I was at Trader Joe’s they did not have eggs at all. My breakfast is either, oatmeal, cream of wheat, whole grain waffles topped with plain yoghurt, berries and slivered almonds, or an egg of some kind, scrambled, poached on whole wheat bread, or an omelet. I have an egg for breakfast about 3 to 4 times a week. A few weeks ago when eggs where really expensive I bougth medium size eggs, they are too small. since I only use one egg. When I make scrambled eggs, I add a little cream and sometimes cheddar cheese, and often mushrooms or green onions.

Totally agree about the cream………scrambled eggs with Half & Half are so delicious.

Hanne, hate to break it to you but the $7.49 you are paying for eggs is just the beginning.

You’re paying for farmers to PCR test their flock.

You’re paying the farmers to kill their flocks.

You’re paying for companies like Moderna to develop vaccines for the avian flu.

This is a shakedown.

Im so glad I dont like eggs. But this stinks for those who do.

My last dozen were free due to a store rewards program. Of course the picture here is $40 for 60 eggs and $8 for a dozen. I still buy eggs though. It’s a good source of protein. But as some of the egg farmers have said this Bird Flu thing is BS. The dumb government is still trying to fool us.

Trader Joe’s has really been wonderful in holding its price down and limiting one box per customer. So yes they do sometimed run out, but they’ve been four to five dollars this whole time! I love that store for their excellent quality products, at fair price. Your picture in the ad here shows Safeway; of course they’re crazy expensive!

Free-range chickens are more vulnerable because they can come into contact with wild
birds that are infected with the Avian flu virus. USDA Secretary, Brooke Rollins, addressed
the press today and discussed her strategy to help lower the cost of eggs. She also said
eggs are more expensive in California due to the state’s tight restrictions, and the higher
cost of transportation. If California doesn’t loosen some of its restrictions, and lower the
cost of energy, eggs will continue to cost more than the rest of the nation.

BUT, But, but, California voters approved Prop 12 the Farm Animal Confinement Initiative of 2018, by 62.66% of ballots cast. CA voters having attention span of a fungus gnat, were swayed by those favoring Prop 12, spending $13,267,245.55 to influence voters. An of course they did their due diligence, spending more time researching how they would vote than they did checking how many signal bars their hand held devices had.
.
An once again supposedly unforeseen consequences
(or were they) just sorta magically happened.

Thank you Donald Trump.

Yes indeed, it’s all Trumps fault.
Trump is also responsible for KMart going out of business, the Vietnam war, the great San Francisco earthquake and fire, the extinction of the dinosaurs….

Egg prices got ridiculous while Joe Biden was still in office! But even last month as the prices were remaining high. Trump right away was blamed for it all. And here you’ve got congressman Swalwell blaming the airline crashes of this year on Trump! That’s all the Democrats can do because they have nothing going for themselves now. And they’re panicked to death over Doge because it’s revealing some of their crazy pet projects that are wasting taxpayer Monies.

so much for the old “Hen grenade” at these prices kids can’t afford to egg houses anymore.

I still purchase eggs. I am unsure if the radical means of curbing the avian flu (culling flocks) is necessary, as I am not studied up on this, but seems draconian to eliminate all birds to prevent from getting ill. To prevent a hen from getting ill, and passing to the rest of the flock, the solution is to eliminate the flock???? I am sure it is not that simple, but federal guidance in the past has been WAAAAAY off, so I would immediately question this guidance. Anyway, I would much rather have eggs than a beer.

No, killing the chickens that have natural immunity doesn’t make sense. It’s the same strategy they used with Covid. They told us that no one has natural immunity and there would be “severe illness and death” without the vaccine.

To be fair. The price is for 60 eggs. Although $8 per dozen is still outrageous.

Different vaccine, same playbook.

Chickens are tested with a method prone to false positives. If one chicken tests positive, the whole flock is killed. Farmers are ok with it because they get paid by the government for each chicken that is culled. Egg prices increase. Big Pharma announces they have the cure but every chicken will need to be vaccinated.

Of course the avian flu vaccine is government subsidized. Biden already gave Big Pharma $500 million before he left office.

As a society, are we that stupid to fall for the same trick twice in a row?

Went to Costco Tuesday, 5 dozen for $18.
Had eggs for breakfast this morning.
.
Trader Joe’s sells fertilized eggs.
Search for hatching and raising chickens
You might be meeting your neighbors at 05:00 . . . . . .

Another Covid scam now called Bird Flu to soon lock us down again. Get with it people, these entire fiascos are just fear devices to control us further.

Remember the Bird Flu of 1976? I do! Watch 60 Minutes expose’, which was a SHOCKER being that they even exposed it as such.

When will we EVER learn!?
