Several years ago – near Bodega Bay, just south of the Russian River …. absolutely a blast – Newscum & cronies declared eminent domain over our property and declared it to be made into a state park – never happened

About 22 years ago at Calaveras Big Trees (the campground way in the back away from the road).
Saw a giant cluster of ladybugs, saw Jupiter rising, and fished in the upper Stanislaus River (I think?)

A few years ago, I took a drive up highway 101 to Astoria, Oregon and stopped at
Richardson Grove State Park in Humboldt County and slept in a tent surrounded by
giant redwood trees. About halfway up the Oregon coast, we stopped at the Oregon
Dunes National Recreational Area near Coos Bay and spent the day riding over the
sand dunes in an ATV. That night, we drove up the coast and found a small
campground where we pitched our tent and spent the night. The next day we
drove up to Astoria, on the way back to California, we stopped at Crater Lake.
Camping is not allowed, so we camped outside the park.

Russian Gulch near Mendocino and Crane Flat. We were planning to go camping again this year but things are in flux at this point with the Parks.

2018 Camp Fire
We slept in the dirt, didn’t shower for days and had a few close calls.
Total of 10 days in Paradise

5-6 years ago, Camp Winton with my son’s Scout Troop.

August 2023 at Wrights Lake up in the Sierras (it’s a bit past Kyburz off of 50). It was more glamping though since we had bathrooms and too much stuff to make it comfortable.

The last real camping I did was close to 15 years ago down in Jawbone Canyon in the Mojave Desert.

6-7 years ago before the fires at Summit Lake at Lassen volcanic park.

2023 at the IMSA sports car race at Laguna Seca in my regular camp site between turns 9 and 10 in the lower Corkscrew View section. I’ve been camping there for several years. I was in my site in 2024, but didn’t camp because it was Mothers Day weekend, so I only went Friday and Saturday and stayed in a hotel at night. We’ve camped dozens of times at Pinecrest and many other places as well. I love the sound of race cars in the morning! Or any other time.
