Help The Food Bank Of Contra Costa & Solano Raise 3 Million Meals This Holiday Season

As we head into the holidays, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano needs our community’s support even more than usual. They typically see a 20% increase in neighbors visiting their programs. This is also a critical funding period for the Food Bank, as they typically raise 50% of their community support during the holiday season.

As part of that, they are excited to share their 3 Million Meals Campaign.

3 Million Meals Campaign: (Giving Tuesday 12/3)

  • Donate: The Food Bank wants to raise enough funds to provide 3 Million Meals for its annual campaign. In partnership with Pacific Service Credit Union and the Donald Zonshine Family Foundation, every dollar donated up to $85,000 on Giving Tuesday will be matched!
  • This means that every dollar will provide at least four meals for our neighbors in need.
  • Those campaigns will kick off on Giving Tuesday (12/3).

What is driving the increased need?

  • All pandemic-era benefits have now expired, and that is having an impact on our community.
  • At the same time, our community continues to experience high food and gas prices.
  • These issues also impact the amount of food we can purchase to provide for our neighbors in need.

Holiday Information:

  • Despite higher food costs, the Food Bank continues distributing enough food to provide more than 2.7 million meals to 65,000 households monthly.
  • 65% of the food we distribute is fresh produce, proteins, and dairy.

We have donated before with our neighbors instead of giving gifts to each other for Christmas.
When my Hubby brings the 6+ boxes of food the Food Bank, the volunteers wowed.
It’s a wonderful way to bless others.
