The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
QUESTION: Do you talk about politics at Thanksgiving dinner with your family, or do you try and stay away from that subject?
Talk about it….
Hell yeah! Just don’t get your feelings hurt.
Our large gathering will not be discussing politics as we are all joyful Trump kicked ass. Trump won get over it.
Hell yeah! Trump all the way!
Yes. We all share the same view so it is not an issue. On the contrary, it is really fun to bash Trump and his supporters at the dinner table.
That is why ya’ll lost by a lanslide. I can’t believe you saw any substance to her “policies”
You guy won 🥇 but yet I still have encountered angry Trump supporters. What gives?
Serving Crow this year?
How about because Biden/Harris are doing everything possible to bring about a third world war before the end of their term? Or because the current administration is trying to get away with forgiving $4.65B taxpayers are supposed to get back from Ukraine (and you thought student loan forgiveness was going to cost you!!!)?
This is part of the reason you guys lost. Your unfair criticism, insulting and demonization and attack of traditional Americans. People finally saw through it.
Bash all you want you’re the minority! We laugh at you.
What gives? Do the terms “deplorables”, “garbage”, “fascists” ring a bell? That’s all you guys, d*bag. Enjoy your dinner.
only the argument will be between white meat and dark….otherwise pass them taters 😁
NO!
We don’t like politics at the Thanksgiving table! And we’re very concerned that several liberal friends who are still upset over the election will try to turn it into a divided event.
We plan to give a very nice announcement ‘warning’ at the beginning.
I’m not fixated on politics, I enjoy my life and live in the now.
Politics rarely enters my mind, and when I visit with my family,
we’re too busy having a good time and enjoying each other’s
company. Nobody even brings it up. My brother and I enjoy
building hot rods and fast cars, so we’re usually talking about
what projects we’ve been working on. We’re a Sicilian family
and my sister and daughter are great cooks, as a result, we’re
enjoying a wonderful meal and telling them how fantastic it is.
Not likely to be in the company of anyone this year. In the past, with friends/family who would bring up their leftist politics, all I ever had to do was to parry with a fact. After a few times of this, it eventually led to no further political discussions. I wish we’d dine with our friends again (for that I would be truly thankful), but they have yet to get past masking while in the house.
Yes definitely! That way when everyone is mad at you, you don’t have to get them any Christmas presents! Saves money!
word to the wise~ If you want a peaceful meal never discuss POLITICS or Religion. No sore subjects or family squabbles.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
As like Dawg, we are a Sicilian Family and the food is yummy.
We know who not to talk politics to in the Gathering.
Half & Half in the group, … but we keep Love in the Heart of it.
Probably should while we can as the media has been saying we will have dictator starting 1/20/25. The dictator could ban thanksgiving and possibly family gatherings. The dictator may arrest or deport people for ‘bashing’ him. Oprah said that was our last election so we might want to talk about what that looks like at the T-day table. While we can…
Any and all topics that are suitable for dinner conversation
are open for discussion.
We’re adults. It’s fine.
Dr. Amanda Calhoun, a psychiatrist at Yale University, suggested cutting off family members who voted differently than them, especially for the holidays.
It’s hard for me to come up with a more cult like action than separating family members from each other.
In past years,IF they start it, I finish it.
.
Lean back, an let’em run . . . . . .
Used to fire up computer, stick in bookmark usb stick and it becomes an educational moment.
Last few years however, politics hasn’t been brought up.
