Thanksgiving joke

Why shouldn’t you sit next to a turkey at dinner?” “Because he will gobble it up

I am happy to see some Christmas decorations up on a limited number of homes. As the days pass, I expect more, including my own. Because as the song says (even though I do not like the song necessarily), “we need a little Christmas, right this very moment.” This will be a good Christmas!

Well, with Thanksgiving so late…. I am one of those who need to have these decorations up at least 40 days before Christmas, a mental glitch or whatever. I just loaded up on Christmas music, and it was a struggle to wait until now. We decorate for Thanksgiving, but it becomes a blend at some point.

But it’s so cold for this November that it feels more like Christmas or January. Maybe a little too much “cloud brightening” going on. Seems a little goes a long way but they’re not smart enough for that.

I wonder what’s going to be in the empty spot at the plaza in between Staples and CVS. It is so odd to have a wide open space there without a tenant planned yet. It would be nice to see that area revitalize a bit. M

I think that clayton road right?

Treat Bl actually but kind of at the intersection of Treat & Clayton Rd

Not sure what I would like to see there (because we know how important what Jeff TOO wants is critical to the success of Concord), in part because I do not buy things, not a strong consumer, don’t drink or dance, so no need for a bar/club (sound like the life of the party, don’t I?). Those pottery places, where you could paint pottery and they would kiln it would be nice, but that is pricey. I’d really like an indoor range. That I would use. Or raze it all, and plant some trees.

Lincoln,
.
Nothing will be built there until a business decides they’re interested in the location and they build a new building.

Here is another of my pet peeves. I went to Cost Plus to pick up some of my favorite European delicacies. As most of you probably know parking is tough there, I drove around for about 10 minutes, when I was about to turn left, a women gets into a while SUV, the lights go on, even the back up lights, but she does not back out of her space, more lights come on, she backs out a little, then changes her mind, and stops. I waited a good ten minutes for her to finally leave. Then when I got into the store although they had my favorite German Marcipan, and some licorice they did not have my favorite British tea, only in decaf. I do not drink decaf tea.

This is not a pet peeve, but it is something that I come across often at work. The first think I ask a customer is if they have a Macy’s card, often someone will say “Yes”, but I don’t have it on me can you look it up with my phone number, many seem totally unaware of how unsecure that is. We look it up with a driver’s license and SS number. We have a another rewards program that is not a card, but customer’s can still earn points and get coupons, since it is not a card, that we look up with phone number, often a customer will give me a phone number, and the computer let’s me know that particular number is associated with a Macy’s Card. So I ask the customer if they had a Macy’s card, and often they reply, ‘Oh, it’s not my phone number, it’s my mother’s or sister”. They seem totally unaware of that you can’t use someone’s card if that person is not with them, besides that the as stated the phone number does not allow us to access their card. The other issue that astonishes me, is sometime, a customer will, say “I just bought something downstairs” and hand me the receipt, thinking that their card number is on the receipt. I kindly remind them that if their card number was on the receipt, it would be so easy for someone to shop on their card, should the drop the receipt. Often, I get the answer “you are so right, I never thought of that”.

People actually give you their SS number, now that’s about a stupid as you can be.

Probably the last 4 numbers which is quite common for verification these days.

Not always I’ve heard on numerous occasions people giving cashiers their whole social security number or their pin number for the debit/credit card they’re using that the cashier is swiping people just have no common sense or brains anymore.

No, they don’t give to the sales associates, they type it in on the pad, and it never appears on the register screen, as soon as they type in a number, it changes to an X, so no sales associate will see even one number. We all know that using SS number to id someone is not a good idea. However, that battle was lost a long time ago. You can’t apply for a credit card, or loan etc. without giving you SS number. If we do a charge and send phone order, when we type in the credit card number, it gets X out as soon as we type in one number, that way a dishonest sales associate will not be able to copy the credit card number and run up fraudulent charges.

I hope Tyson cleans the clock of Paul. Not that I know a darn thing about Paul, but I recall when I was in high school, me and my friend Gary would discuss how scary Mike was, He is my age, and now he is fighting some guy half his age. I hope to see the 1980s Tyson…

The whole fight was staged like a WWF wrestling show. Paul should have cleaned Tyson’s clock within the first round but he was holding back the whole fight.
What Paul did was give Tyson a bow out from boxing without knocking him out.
The women boxers put on the best show with the whole night we really enjoyed watching them beat on each other.

I’m glad we converted our large motorhome to nuclear power, no more recharging no more gas stations should have done this a long time ago and we don’t need a headlights/tail lights because we glow in the dark.

I really wish Claycord would return to their old format!
The comments are hard to read with broken sentences and washed out text!

It a nice plugin when properly setup. They probably don’t have enough time or skill to do it though.

I was checking Lights of the Valley to see what cool Christmas houses there will be this year in the Concord area and it reminded me of that one house off Treat Blvd between Cowell and Oak Grove that had an amazing display it was star wars themed and it had all sorts of themes and elements, the line of cars when down Treat Blvd. I think they were only around 1 year and I believe it was 2020? Does anyone remember this? Or did I imagine it?

Also, just so everyone knows there is a house called “The Griswold House” this year and I am super excited to check it out.

You may already know this, but I just found out yesterday that See’s is open in the Clayton Station Shopping Center as a “pop-up”. It’ll be gone after Christmas.
