The following is from the Concord Police Department:

Today, Concord Police responded to reports of a suspicious grey sedan with the occupants reportedly brandishing a firearm near Ygnacio Valley High School and Oak Grove Middle School.

A responding CPD officer located the vehicle in the high school parking lot, and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted. The high school went into lockdown as a precaution until the scene was secured.

The vehicle occupants, non-students, were arrested for alcohol-related crimes. No firearm was recovered, but the investigation is ongoing. We thank school staff and students for their vigilance and our officers for their swift response in ensuring community safety. School Resource Officers and additional patrol officers will be monitoring the situation and are working in coordination with school administrators.

This maybe a simple case of youthful indiscretion since no firearm was discovered.

Perhaps capital punishment might be a little draconian in this case don’t you think?!? 🤔
