Congressman Mark DeSaulnier announced he will present funding he secured to Seneca Family of Agencies to help local law enforcement, the probation system, behavioral health partners, and child welfare organizations to identify and respond to commercial and sexual exploitation of children in Contra Costa County on Wednesday, October 30. This funding was part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (H.R. 4366), which included a total of $15.2 million in federal funding Congressman DeSaulnier secured for 15 projects across Contra Costa County and Alameda County.

’35 California House Democrats Voted Against Deporting Illegal Immigrants Convicted of Sex Crimes’
“The House of Representatives passed on Wednesday H.R. 7909 (266 – 158), the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, which will “amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide that aliens who have been convicted of or who have committed sex offenses or domestic violence are inadmissible and deportable.”
That is the exact language of the bill.
.
Here’s more, which includes:
SEX OFFENSES—Any alien who has been convicted of, who admits having committed, or who admits committing acts which constitute the essential elements of a sex offense;
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, STALKING, CHILD ABUSE, OR VIOLATION OF PROTECTION ORDER.—Any alien who has been convicted of, who admits having committed, or who admits committing acts which constitute the essential elements of:
However, 158 Democrats voted against Rep. Nancy Mace’s bill to deport illegal immigrants convicted of sex offenses, stalking, child abuse, harassment, et al.
Every Republican present voted for the bill, as did 51 Democrats, Newsweek reported.”

One of those democrats voted NO on deporting illegal aliens committing sex crimes, stalking, child abuse, harassment was Mark DeSaulnier, California

Yet, in 2018, DeSaulnier was one of only twenty-five representatives to vote NO on HR 1865 which was a Bill to prosecute online sex traffickers who prey on our children. 388 representatives voted YES.
Why would he vote NO on a Bill protecting our children? Because he said it may criminalize sex workers who have no other options to make money. Hmm?
…. and who would vote for him knowing this? … makes you wonder……
People, this is our chance to make change. Please vote accordingly. The status quo has gotten us in the situation we’re in. You cannot vote the way you’ve been voting and expect anything to change, or for trajectories to switch paths.
This is where the people have a voice. If you want something different, then you MUST vote differently than you have been. There is no safety in following the crowd, the crowd will be deceived and let straight down the toilet.
Think about this once beautiful state of CA. The envy of the nation, EVERYBODY wanted to live in or visit CA. We had everything here, it was the closest thing to paradise in North America. Now, are you too embarrassed to say you’re from CA when visiting other states? When you say you’re from the bay area do people look at you funny and ask why on earth you live here? Do they ask if it’s as crazy, dirty, expensive, weird, woke and as absurd as they’ve seen on TV?
Who caused this? Think about it. It’s not due to the residents or the businesses, it’s due to the politics. Change must me made, it already may be too late.
Vote DIFFERENT, make changes, hold politicians accountable. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE.
It’s funny to me that he and the Democrats seem to condon and even promote this type of thing most the time, but here he seems to be trying to help solve a problem he created.
Must be because it’s election time. But it was too late for me we already voted for the other guy.
This story makes no sense considering the fact that the United States federal government is knee deep in child trafficking maybe we could find the 400,000 children that are missing that would be a great start I noticed that the fact about the federal government was not mentioned in the headline it doesn’t really make sense to be involved in child trafficking and then throw a few pennies at the problem and pretend like you’re going to fix it sounds like a typical Democrat situation they create the problem and then turn around and all the sudden they have the knowledge to fix it just give them enough money
Seneca works the Un-housed and Foster Care children as well as the Troubled Youth market. They also “educate” the kids that cannot make it in a regular school setting. You may recall that they leased part of Glenbrook Middle School for a while, after MDUSD chose it and its little sister school, Award-winning Holbrook Elementary to close in 2010, (after we voted for their $$$ BOND. While claiming to be pro-family oriented,
Seneca is very proud to be “Committed to Racial Justice and LGBTQ Rights” and supportive of DEI and “Gender Affirming” and yada yada.
They even post on their “About Us” site a hand-out to assist people in knowing what the SIX Gender Pronouns are ~ and how to pronounce them:

It actually makes perfect sense that Mark D would park some taxpayer money there.
So Marky wants to grand stand with this new funding to look like he accomplished something. Meanwhile, those in the know know he’s really a sleaze ball Democrat politician. Who keeps voting to keep this dirt-bag on the payroll?!!
MARTINEZ GUY,
.
It’s the 65% – 80% of the 10th Congressional District voters, formerly the 11th Congressional District voters, who vote for Congressman Mark DeSaulnier in every general election. He comes nowhere close to being defeated. He wouldn’t be in office today if Republican voters hadn’t put him there when he ran for Concord City Council and the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors as a progressive Republican. After a decade in office he switched parties, becoming a progressive Democrat, in order to stay in office and seek higher office.
.
The corrupt, crooked, lying, preacher and Assemblyman Tim Grayson has made it clear that he intends on replacing Mark DeSaulnier in Congress, and he’s much worse than Congressman Mark DeSaulnier. Don’t be so gungho on dumping DeSaulnier for the much, much worse Grayson.
Will DeSourair move on to tackling the real issues that are plaguing working taxpaying citizens when gets done with it? Like crumbling roads? Crime? Crushing inflation? Rampant taxation? ……
They never do & still get voted in promising to fix the very problem that they created, maddening…
CAUTIOUSLY INFORMED,
.
I doubt you’d like Congressman Mark DeSaulnier’s solutions to those other problems, so it’s probably better that he just keeps working on things like this, before he creates more problems working on issues which really matter.
Good point
We already have a goverment agency to stop this behavior. Why give money to another agency. SENECA? Makes no sense.
The government is inept and feckless. They have zero ability to fix anything really important. So, they(Desourair especially) make up little accomplishments for themselves in an effort to make themselves look and feel valid and important.
Seneca Family of Agencies
WHY? Why would we want you the government (our tax dollars) to fund a “Non Profit” that already makes $176,921,824 million dollars in revenue in 2023? That currently holds $125 million in assets. Their current 990 tell us that they make enough money and they DO NOT NEED OURS, this is what their tax filing tells us about them.

Annual Compensation For Key Employees and Officers
Leticia Sturtevant (Ceo) $322,431
Janet Briggs (Cfo) $296,152
Nathaniel Foster (Cao) $279,458
Osborn Scott (Coo) $240,272
Robin Detterman (Prog Dir Ed Svcs) $237,025
Shane Patterson (Facility Director) $235,282
Rideout Greg (Interim Exec Dir) $213,925
Kim Wayne (Dir Equity/Incl) $212,152
Ask yourself! Should we be paying more taxes for an already very very wealthy “nonprofit” with large compensation packages for their board? San Francisco is already looking into questionable “non profits” funded by the government – perhaps we should too.
