City Of Martinez To Discuss Changes To Downtown Parking

On Wednesday October 2 at 5:30pm the Martinez City Council will hold a workshop on potential updates to parking technology and parking rates in the downtown area. Last year, Martinez was awarded a $1.27 million grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to fund a comprehensive update to the parking infrastructure in the downtown area, including meters/kiosks and wayfinding signage. The City Council will hold an initial discussion on parking technology options and on how the City’s existing parking rates compare with other jurisdictions.

The public is invited to attend the workshop in person or online and voice their opinion on what direction the City should take with this opportunity to invest in the downtown. For more details and the virtual meeting link, please view the meeting agenda at www.cityofmartinez.org/meetings

Aka Price increases…. and worse parking incoming.

Whatever the outcome, parking will be more expensive with fewer spaces available.

The public’s input is a formality.

The decisions have already been made.

Your government in action.
