In the 1970s, we lived in an old Victorian house in San Francisco that was rumored to be haunted. I was asleep one night when I woke up feeling a breeze blowing through an open window, which I did not leave open. I looked up and saw a young woman in a white nightgown standing in front of the window with her arms stretched out like she was yawning. I wasn’t sure if it was real or if I was dreaming, so I went back to sleep. The next day, I was talking to a neighbor that has lived on the same street for over 40 years, and told him about it. He said there was a woman that lived there in the 1930s and her jealous boyfriend climbed up through the window and shot her. I’m not too sure if I believe in ghosts, but that experience seemed real to me. We lived there for another year and I never saw her again.

I already do my grandpa haunts my mom’s house all the time! Doors and cabinets open and sometimes see somebody passing through the hallway.

Mother in law used to stay with us, so how much worse can it be?

Many family/friends who slept in my basement claimed to have seen various spirits of sorts through the years (40 years ago). I slept there all the time, had funky dreams, which is what I think friends/family had same which led to thinking it was haunted. Regardless, even after hearing all this, stayed there at least 5 years. I can’t say it was haunted, but I really do not believe in hauntings. So, yes, I would live in a house that other people think is haunted.

Worked 48 hr shifts out of a haunted Firehouse for many years. Didn’t bother me too much but some of the crew refused to sleep in certain rooms. Couple of guys claimed they got pulled off the bed in the middle of the night. Always had doors opening and closing for no reason and weird cold spots but I don’t know if it was ghosts or just an old building. Funny thing is, things continued to happen even after the building was remodeled. I’ve been retired for many years now but I still have some of the younger firefighters ask me if anything weird ever happened to me when I worked at that station, so I guess the legend lives on?

Lived in an old farmhouse when I was a kid.
The cornerstone had an inscription – “1715”. You know people had died in that house – for centuries. But they didn’t stick around, though – no ghosts.
Besides, I’ve seen enough episodes of Scooby Doo – there aren’t any ghosts – just people pretending to be ghosts to scare off those meddlesome kids!
All the houses I lived in had cracked ceilings from the German bombing.
The butcher’s shop on the high street was Tudor (wooden beams, white stucco and cantilevered out over the sidewalk). The date above the door was 1668. Still no ghosts!
Glad you appreciate the history!

I wouldn’t have a problem if it was a friendly ghost that did my housework.

I believe I’ve lived in 2 homes where the spirits of deceased pets stayed on…. woke me up on several occasions…. the cat liked to sleep on my back.
At a job during my younger years I witnessed a cup fly off a shelf on a wall and smash into the wall on the opposite side of the hallway.
It wasn’t a prank, no way to fake it & there were multiple witnesses, one girl was so frightened she burst into tears…. spookie!

so cool, the thought of being in a house with such history. 1715, amazing.
