1956 Chevy Nomad
Retro mod

funny, mine is a 1957 Nomad. Used to be a ’67 Goat, but over the years, I have really been drawn to the ’57 Nomad or the Bel-Air (hell, ’56, ’57, ’58…)

The cop car from The Blues Brothers. It’s got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it’s got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It’s a model made before catalytic converters so it’ll run good on regular gas.

That Mt Prospect Cop car’s got a lotta pick-up, need to fix the lighter, though

The Blues Brothers’ cop car was a 1974 Dodge Monaco.

On some days, any vehicle leaving CA

My first pick is an all original 1940 Ford coupe, complete with the original flathead 85 HP motor. Second pick is an all original 1969 Mustang Mach I with the small block 351.
I’ve actually been shopping around for the ’40 Ford and found quite a few of them, but finding one that has not been modified in any way, shape, or form, is difficult. I’m looking for one that is exactly as it was when it left the assembly line. A little rusty, and in need of repair, but as long as the car is complete without any missing parts or body damage, I’d be happy. My lifelong hobby has been building hot rods and fast cars, but with the ’40 Ford, I’d leave it all original, and make it look and run like new.

There is an original 1940 Standard coupe on carbuffs right now.

The car I’d want the most – even if I had to pay for it (assuming I could) is a Ferrari F40.

Absolutely no question.

I want a Mini-Cooper Clubman. Something about those swinging barn doors at the back sing to me. Yeah, I know it’s now outta production….but, I can still dream.

Well…. I’d probably go with a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum, but maybe not, they tend to lose hubcaps real easy.
Remember the movie “Bullitt” and the chase scene with the 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 Fastback?
That Charger lost at least 5 hubcaps hitting bumps and hard cornering…. of course nobody said I couldn’t get aftermarket wheels, right?
Now I’m thinking about that Mustang tho….
But I’m getting too old for muscle cars…. maybe I should just settle for a bone stock ’34 Ford pickup truck in mint condition.
Yep, made up my mind,
I want the truck.

I LOVE the oldies! Always wanted a 69 Corvette or similar….But technology is so freaking awesome!
I want an Orange Convertible Evoque by Range Rover. I’d be look so cute in the drivers seat.

Ugh. Range Rovers are English.

Wait til you get a repair bill for a bad module.

A semi-luxury vehicle with all the creature comforts and rack & pinion steering. But it also has to be as reliable as my 88 Volvo wagon and that’s the rub. I can not identify any cars in the $20k-$60k range that is reliable. All manufacturers can’t seem to build a quality car after all their years in business.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Toyota/Lexus tend to be bulletproof these days.

Cars are built much better today than they used to be. They are quicker to accelerate, handle much better, and last a lot longer. I can remember a time when the CHP sold their cars to auctioneers when they had 72,000 miles on them. Now they can have up to 120,000 miles before going off to the auctioneer. Another thing to remember, motor oil is better quality now than it was in the past, and that helps the car last longer too.

Since there was no definition in the question for the term “vehicle” my dream vehicle would be a spaceship that would travel faster than light and get me far beyond this solar system or galaxy to some “dream” place.👽

I’m kind of a Tom-Boy at heart and really would like to have an older Truck, ….not sure of what brand.
In good condition and could be easily worked on, …. one that speaks to me.

Most trucks built before 1972 are easy to work on. They are high enough off the ground to crawl under without using a jack, and when you open the hood, there’s plenty of room without all the smog hoses. My personal favorite is a ’67 through ’72 Chevy 1/2 ton.

Thanks DAWG!
Knew you would have a good review on one.
Yes, I like the height thing.
Think I’m going to start hunting for a truck soon.
But I will still keep my Jeep-Girl, … ‘BEAST’. 🙂

One that can take my family and I comfortably through retirement…didn’t say it had to have wheels (vehicle).

Despite the reputation of British made vehicles being mechanical nightmares, an Aston Martin Vantage S V12 would suit me just fine.

Street legal Bradley? original military outfitted HumVee? 🙂

“63” Corvette Stingray or original 427 Cobra

My favorite classics would be a 1968 Chevy Camaro SS and a 1968 Ford Bronco.

For new cars I’ll take a Rezvani Vengeance, a Rezvani Beast, and a Rezvani Tank. And a Toyota Tundra.

Prefer trucks, not realistic for me at this point in life. Love my SUV. Feel safe and protected. Wouldn’t mind downsizing some time in the future for better fuel economy, but always want an SUV, just not necessary now as I either head to the Peninsula or East.

I’m so fortunate to own my dream vehicle already. It’s a 4WD pick-up. It has been around a while and I’d bet many of you have seen me driving it. Many of you also probably think I’m nuts choosing a truck over some really expensive fancy vehicle, except for maybe Roz and Antler, since they’ve commented on how much they like their Jeep and Lincoln Navigator, respectively.

My old CJ 5 Jeep, I loved that Ragtop.

1965 Olds 442.
Bucket seats, 400 cu in, 4 bbl carb, 4-speed, posi rear end with AM/FM radio. No A/C

The most beautiful car ever built: 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. 3 liter V12, gated shifter, classic front engine. Unfortunately, they are going for $50-70 million now, so there’s no chance I’ll ever own one. Or, a Lotus Super 7 with about a 4″ stretch and a taller foot box so my legs and feet will fit.

I’d be afraid to drive a car worth more than $75,000 !

Eleanor. IYKYK

I’ve always wanted a 65 Ford Mustang since I was in High School! Never happened. 🙁

The 2+2 Fastback, right?

I have 2
66 or 67 GTO painted glossed black
67 or 68 Firebird painted lipstick red

When I met my husband back in 1986 I asked him this question. He answered that he would like either a Model T or a Model A. I thought he was crazy. We have a 1928 Ford Tudor Model A in our garage. He wasn’t crazy.

Lincoln Town Car. Cream exterior, black leather seats.

I drive MY dream machine almost every day. 1956 Ford F-100 customized pickup truck. Bright Orange Paint with ghost flames. Most folks in PH, Mtz, Concord know it’s me and wave when I honk the A-oooga
Horn. It’s won 19 trophies so far at local car shows. I wish there was a way to post a photo.!?!?

One I owned, the other a boyfriend owned.

My exhusband and I bought a1982 BMW 528e, we ordered here and picked it up at the factory in Munich. Beautiful factory and we were treated like royalty, free lunch in a very nice caferteria, I think it might have been the cafeteria for executives, it was nothing like cafeteria here. We drove the car around Europe for a few weeks, visited my family in Denmark. When I got divorced I got the car and it was 11 years old before I got rid of it.
The other dream car was my boyfriend’s corvette. It was a 1964 Corvette Stingray. I met my boyfriend in 1968 in Westport Ct. I loved that car (and the boyfriend) driving along the beach with the top down was heaven. What I always dreamed America would be like.
