Joke

My cellphone accidentally took a 10 minute video of my shoes yesterday.
It was some pretty good footage.

Anyone else being inundated by Voles. They have been ruthless this year. Between the cats, the dog and the traps, we have sent 42 over the rainbow bridge so far and they keep on coming. My lawn is screaming uncle. I won’t use poison so I guess I’ll keep fighting the good fight and hope the lawn can be salvaged. Let me know if anyone has had success getting rid of them permanently.

No voles here (near DVC), but some gopher activity.

It would be very helpful if Claycord could publish the Concord police weekly summaries like they used to. I found it very interesting to see the locations of different types of crime in our city.

@ ORIGINAL G ~
Interesting!
Funny thing I was talking to my brother earlier this week who drives for a living.
He has been keeping some of his meds, beverages, and snacks in the car with this heat.
Let him know, the meds could be compromised, and from bottles & packages, it can contaminate products.
Heck, I remember back in the 80’s with some super-hot days, some co-workers would put dinner in their car to slow cook all day, so it was ready to serve at home, …. I thought it was crazy!

Original G, and Roz, I have heard that carbonated beverages can explode inside a hot car. Beverages like beer and soda have air trapped inside, and air expands when it gets hot.

A few decades back spare tire in a can was sold, would seal tire and inflate it. Remember hearing of the aerosol cans cooking off blowing up and coating surfaces with sealant.

55 years ago today Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on another celestial body, while Michael Collins became the only human to be solo and out of view of anyone as he passed behind the moon in the command module. An incredible accomplishment and I find it sad that we still haven’t been back since the last Apollo moon landing in December 1972. We must have the national will to make sure we do it in the near future with Artemis. By our basic nature, humans are explorers and we must continue to explore inner and outer space.

Go NASA!

Anybody else hearing what sounds like explosions on the East side of Concord? Could be from the Naval Weapons Station area. As heard from near The Pavilion.

4500+ out of power from PG&E yesterday afternoon due to an unplanned outage. The vmail we got was “There’s a storm in your area” …there wasn’t even a wisp of wind… calling the PG&E reps they told me – There’s a tech on your street night now .. no there wasn’t – we live on a short street … This is what happens when you have Newscum, PG&E, & the CPUC all watching out after each other….

….admins – not sure how this happened – I made the post above – domo – but came under a different name “Badgerme”

Domo, the same thing has happened to me several times and I squawked about it, but now I kind of like it. It dawned on me that if I post something really stupid it gives me plausible deniability!
Blame it on so and so.

Meetings are one thing, found over the years who leads the meeting is important.
Worked with a smart, self started and highly skilled mechanical type while I did electrical side.
When it comes to industrial maintenance that’s the ideal combination.
We worked together for almost a decade and 90% of the time our bosses had no idea what we were up to.
Fix what’s broke, then go find something that needs improving.
“There are no bad ideas, there are some that won’t work and we don’t keep score.”
.
Getting back to meetings and leadership, in 45 years only had two incredible bosses we would help out any way we could. When they thanked you there was absolutely no doubt they meant it.

All that to get you to watch “Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”

Watched it at least twice a year and still do.
Encouraged bosses at work and coworkers with kids to watch Last Lecture video.
Those two bosses I mentioned, was blown away by how closely their management style matched Pausch’s lecture.
