QUESTION: What’s your favorite city in central Contra Costa County?

None of them are favorites, but I do like Danville, Martinez, Orinda, and Moraga.
If i could afford it,Danville.Very safe,and sensible people.Lafayette is nice but has a mindset that is a little too fussy.Moraga just a little too far from things.
Admit it you Cordians, you want to live in CLAYTON!!
I have several favorite cities in CA, none of them in Contra Costa County.

Clayton! It’s the last of its kind that isn’t WOKE!
I lived in Clayton for 30 years… the old Clayton was nice but I moved away about the time talk began about building low income housing and before Clayton introduced the largest yearly gay pride hoopla in the county (I hope it doesn’t get Guerneville’d).
The neighborhoods are beautiful…. but the historic western downtown image is fading away.

I love the small town America feel of downtown Clayton!!
That is what sold us back in 2001 for concord! We loved the small town Central American feel of downtown Concord!
I loved the park, with all the banks, restaurants, around it. A much modern infrastructure, same feeling!
Downtown…. yeah I guess so, maybe a little bit….. but the “Central American feel” is alot more evident in the Monument Blvd. corridor than it is downtown.
Does Bodega Bay count? 🙂

Unfortunately it’s where the thieves meet to roll the elite.
Clayton, where we’ve lived for 47 years. It’s just a great little town, and even though it’s population has almost tripled since we moved here, it still hasn’t lost much of it’s character.

I’ve lived in many of them. Grew up in Pleasant Hill and Moraga. Lived in Lafayette, Orinda, Concord, Martinez, Walnut Creek and currently Clayton. If you don’t need to commute then Clayton is my favorite but all of them were good at one time. I like the small town charm, the views, the trails, the people and the fact that its off the beaten path so it’s very safe. None of the Cities I mentioned are as good as they were in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s but I’m not as good as I was then either.

And as a counterpoint to an earlier post, the Third Annual Clayton Pride Parade in early June was an awesome event. A truly positive vibe throughout the day. It was an opportunity for local and regional LGBTQ folks to be and celebrate their authentic selves. And also an opportunity for allies to show their support for our LGBTQ friends and family.
“Authentic Selves”?
NO……they were celebrating their unnatural sexuality which should be private and of no concern to anybody else.
They should have some class and keep their sexual preferences to themselves instead of engaging in some kind of extroverted need to parade around in public and declare their queerness as some kind of achievement to be admired…. it isn’t.
Want to be treated the same as everybody else?
Then quit making such a flaming point of being different from everyone else!

Oh boy..how exciting, gay pride parade comes to a city to where less than 1% of the residence in that city go along with it.
Yeah they think they have a very good reason bringing that parade here to Clayton every year but most the residents aren’t falling for it and Clayton will remain anti-woke and remain the city it’s always been.

Carnival Side Shows have always been money-makers. City leaders and business owners like to make money. Any kind of money! Even when the show borders on porn and child abuse.
The gay ’cause’ and the need to rebel–and stand up for their individual-preferences may have been (in my opinion, actually was) justified in 1969. However ~~thanks to the dirty-sex-freak in the Oval Office, Bill Clinton, his consenting spouse and his devotee Barrack Obama~~ this “cause” has bloomed into a flower that can only be called FILTH.
Much like the way black-fist Marxists invaded and plundered the BLM and degraded what was once a valid African-American movement, the LGBTQIA-PORN movement has shamefully sullied a valid Gay-rights cause.
