After what seems like an eternity, the Dutch Bros. coffee shop and neighboring Kiddie Academy on Clayton Rd. in Concord are almost complete, and the future of the parking lot is taking shape. As you can see, they expect many, many vehicles to wait in line for coffee. In fact, they’ve made the drive-thru queue for Dutch Bros. go through the Taco Bell parking lot, next to the Taco Bell drive-thru. It appears they’re doing everything possible to make it so traffic doesn’t back up onto Clayton Rd.
QUESTION: Is this a good place for a Dutch Bros. and Kiddie Academy, or do you think this is going to be a traffic nightmare?

it doesn’t appear the city is all that concerned about it ….the priority seems to be tax revenue …business after business has been approved that create horrendous traffic conditions all around Concord for the last 20 years.

Going to be hell. For a sugary drink with not a lot of coffee actually in it. The hype is just hype. The actual drinks are menial at best, and not worth the six bucks and an hour wait.
…. hope it doesn’t become a situation like the Starbucks at Treat & Oak Grove … wonder if Dutch Bros business model took into account of possibly losing in-store in business
I don’t think Dutch Bros has in-store service. The new one in MTZ is drive thru and walk up window with about 20 parking spaces – maybe less.
Wondering who are all the customers that are going to be spending six dollars plus when you can make just as good a coffee at home for a fraction. I mean, does anybody really need another coffee shop?

City don’t care about traffic or congestion. Look at Starbucks on Treat/Clayton. Planning was warned about all the issues and chose to ignore them. I’m sure its the same here. Concords motto is Mo’money
I’m team Peet’s, why would anybody still go to Starbucks with their water down coffee.
That is no place for a children’s center! Way too much traffic with both drive thrus in same space. It’s an accident waiting to happen.

The drive thru queue is in Taco Bell’s parking lot?! I didn’t realize it at the time, but it appears the entrance and exit for both new business (daycare and drive thru coffee) are sharing the same entrance/exit as Taco Bell. I can’t imagine what they were thinking. It may make getting to Taco Bell a chore. I long suspected people would use Taco Bell’s parking lot for both coffee and daycare if there’s not enough on their own property. It seems like they went out of their way to mess up Taco Bell. Why couldn’t these businesses be located ANYWHERE else? I mean they could have been on Treat. Plenty of available space there.
