The Monument Blvd. Pavement Rehabilitation Project began today, and will involve work on Monument Blvd. from the City Limits at the Walnut Creek Bridge to Detroit Avenue.

Work will include the installation/upgrades of curb ramps at intersections, minor concrete repairs, adjustment of utilities, restriping, installation of high visibility crosswalks, and adjustment of pedestrian push buttons to meet accessibility standards.

Did not see anything about improving the road

BOMBER,
.
I also didn’t see anything about adding more bike lanes, which will go underused and unused, as have all of the other bike lanes the City of Concord has added all over the city and ruined vehicle traffic lanes in the process.

before I read this I was driving down Monument today and said “this road is horrible, when are they going to fix this”, So YES. I hope first and above all they fix the damn road.

I hope that by them calling it the “pavement rehabilitation project” means that they will also be repaving the roadway and not just adding ADA crosswalk buttons and calling it good.

Remember when they jackhammered out the old asphalt to put in those silly, and now filthy, red pavement crosswalks? I gigantic waste of money and they look terrible with streaks of oil and rubber across them.

They are calling it a “Pavement Rehabilitation Project”. that tells me they took the lowest bidder for the job. I wonder if they will do any of this work during traffic peak hours?

They are required by law to take the lowest bidder.

Pavement rehabilitation. Is that the California woke term for getting roads fixed?

That should make getting to Costco fun.
