Vallejo police issued an Amber Alert at 7:43 a.m. on June 29, 2024 for a 14-day

An Amber Alert was issued in Vallejo on Saturday morning for a 14-day-old baby that is believed to be with her mother in a potential parental abduction, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

The mother, Valerie Manning, and her baby are being sought by police after she could not be located by Solano County Child Protective Services.

The newborn child is considered at-risk, according to the Amber Alert. “At-risk” is a wide-ranging term used by advocates and law enforcement to describe someone who is either in danger or in need of critical medical care, for example.

Pretty sure a 14 day old baby isn’t supposed to be anywhere except with their mother. What am I missing here? How do you abduct your own newborn baby? Does the state think they own this child? What’s the deal?
