A bobcat was rescued from a soccer net today at Boatwright Field in Concord.

Concord Police, along with Fish and Wildlife management, were able to free the bobcat from the net, but it was able to escape after it bit a Fish and Wildlife Management employee.

Thanks to Tim Noble for the photos and information.

Bobcat note to self: Add soccer nets to the list of things to avoid.

Gloves and long pants were a good idea.
Safety for humans and animal is primary.
Needed to control SHARP toothy part and keep it away from humans.
.
Maybe close cage door then hook net a little at a time pulling it thru cage mesh and use side cutter pliers to cut it free.
Painful learning experience.

What’s to know the patrons of the boatright fields are not PETA members and don’t care about anything other than soccer. Or city workers are too lazy and leave these dangerous nets out to be vandalized or kill wildlife. Seems pretty simple issue to me. So how about you take advantage of all the services available that can help with your controlling tendencies. Help is out there.

Oh well, bobcat seems pretty healthy… F & W guy will probably have to get rabies shots anyway.

In AYSO we were reminded to always take the net down after our game. Crazy story!
