I don’t remember things as easily as I used to.

What was the question?

Doctor appointments.
Do you smoke, do you drink, do you eat.
How much exercise do you get. Have you had the vaccination for shingles, pneumonia, Covid, whooping cough, etc.
Blood pressure meds, and statins are pushed on you.

It just isn’t fun going to doctors appointments as an older person.

Having to navigate all of the BS that the insurance companies, regulators and the CA gov makes you go thru to get an appointment.

Just one? Darn. Not being able to do some of the things I used to do. That is currently at the head of the list.

When you hear people say ‘enjoy them while they’re young’ they’re not talking about children, they’re talking about your knees and hips!!!

13

Being stiff all the time.

And seeing my friends die off. 🙁

20

A little back pain, other than that, so far, so good. There is a plus side to getting older, SENIOR DISCOUNT!!! I found that most places don’t advertise it, but when I ask if they offer a senior discount, they usually knock 10% off the price, it’s not much, but it covers the sales tax. I do not look my age, and sometimes I will be asked for an ID, I’ll smile and thank them for the compliment.

Taking longer to heal from injuries.

The body parts aren’t holding up as well as they used to (hips, knees, etc.)

13

Can’t drink a full bottle of Bourbon anymore without a stomach ache/acid reflux.

12

Important thing is you don’t break out in spots, bus bench in west Oakland, etc.
An you definitely find your car at the bottom of a ravine, . . . with you in it.

Doctor appointments, slowing down physically and getting annoyed at young people married to their phones and not paying attention to what’s happening around them!

Post-post menopause, … ugh!
It’s trying to do a number on my whole body.
The battle to improve is on!!

Seeing those Cialis commercials on fox news.

Old people who drive to slow, either drive it or park it…….I’m not getting any younger.

Retired, no longer need to hurry and have learned how long it takes to get places.
We drive slow because, . . . . . . . WE CAN !
Can’t begin to describe the joy of catching up to the speedster who zoomed by,
talking to the nice officer writing a ticket.

Everything! Especially people that are young! Damn whipper snappers!

Don’t know of things I hate getting older but of many things I like.

Getting fat.

12

All the annoying people who didn’t annoy me 20 years ago. I know……maybe it’s me, you say. You’re annoying.

Death.

We’re all going to face death at some point.
I’m certainly in no hurry, but I’m well beyond worrying about it. I’ve felt like I’ve been in my bonus round since 1993, and my legacy is my children and their children.

Longer time to heal and an increase in doctors appointments and surgeries

Decline of my physical condition, paired up with the increasingly noticeable failure of recollection.

No longer being able to hit a golf ball out of my own shadow.

Skin getting thin. I bleed after bumping into anything

On the same topic with an older friend the other day, she was lamenting having “Bingo Wings”. I hadn’t heard the term before, but now I’ll never forget it.
At least she has a sense of humor about getting older.

Started writing myself notes, now if I could just find ’em . . . .

Age as a competition.

I miss being able to scarf an oversized plate of the best food ever created …. and be able to burn off all the calories by the time the sun rose the next morning ….. If I knew then … I would have had that second X-Large Pizza with the 12pk!

Medical cost

Aches and pains. Something is always hurting.
Also, waking up after 6 hrs max, and needing to take a leak. Once I’m awake, I’m awake. I really miss sleeping past 5:00.

If you are over 60 and wake up without any body part hurting then you know you died during the night.

The slight changes, having to get new glasses in less than a year and periodically, (without coffee) slight slower reactions. Having to pay for someone to help do things for me at every turn, that I use to be able to do without risk of injury, cllimb ladders, put together tables, etc. Otherwise, I welcome it. Feel better this age mentally and physically overall than I have in years, even with high-level stress. But do get very tired at times, don’t like that at all. I credit the overall good feeling to my upbringing, dancing, discipline in music, experience, training and attitude overall.

As my oldest friend is always saying …… “This getting old thing sure ain’t for sissies” !!!

Miss my family and friends. The older you get everyone dies off. It’s getting lonely.

Creaky knees, but at least I can still walk and average almost 10,000 steps a day (and have no problem doing double that). It seems that as I get older, either my arms are getting shorter or my legs are getting longer, as the floor seems farther away when I have to pick something up from it.

I hate that I KNOW I should clean the garage so that my kids won’t have to do it after I’m gone. I keep telling myself that I am only 76.5 so have another 25 years, or so to do it.
