I would have to agree with this one.
Treat & Clayton in the morning commute, they don’t want to wait in line in the left lane so they also use the middle lane to make that left turn. It makes for a horrible backed up mess. IDOITS! stupid people!
there are so many other intersections that suck too!
Entire city council should have been recalled for approving that Starbucks location.
Cowell Road at Monument Blvd.
Brand new intersection, comes with it’s own mini ski jump.
High center of gravity vehicle trying to beat a yellow light, cranks wheel hard to make the left turn onto Monument, rolls and some pursuer of emergency transport vehicles is able to afford a new BMW.
680/monument is such a cluster.
The lights only add to the problem
Gotta be Cowell at Treat. It’s a blind intersection. Drivers get behind you at the red light and honk as though you should go and risk getting broadsided by a speeding car coming from Treat.
Agree with all that was mentioned above my post.
Any intersection with a traffic light programmed by Public Works. No synchronization, no red light cameras, no left turns on flashing yellows, little to no traffic enforcement. Driving around Concord is difficult everywhere. Could we swap the traffic management division with Pleasant Hill?

The City of Concord is the perfect example of a city that never properly planned for the growth that it’s had. The City of Concord’s answer to the growth it never properly planned for is not to fix those lack of proper planning errors, but to add 25,000 more housing units to the city as quickly as possible in downtown Concord, on the former CNWS property, the former USCG housing property, both Concord BART Stations, infill housing developments throughout the city, and ADUs throughout the city.

Your post says it all about traffic in Concord. Poor to no coordination between successive intersections, signals that stop major traffic flow for absolutely no reason, red signal for extended periods of time with no opposing traffic, waiting for left turn thru a complete cycle when there is no traffic that conflicts. How about flashing yellow left turn signals like those in Walnut Creek? I see daily many drivers ignoring red lights, perhaps due to total frustration caused by poor signaling. C’mon Concord, get it together!
Turning right onto Farm Bureau from Concord Blvd going towards Willow Pass road. They’ve painted the road green and put up a sign to indicate where you should “start your turn”. Only problem is everyone “starts their turn” way before that sign by driving in the bike lane. Heads up! If you drive in the bike lane you’ll get a 234$ ticket. If you start your turn where the sign says you’re supposed to then you’ll get rear ended by people driving in the bike lane. I now avoid making a turn there so I don’t get a ticket or rear ended. I’m so glad the city made it safer for bicyclists tho!
Treat & Oak Grove.
My personal favorite observation is people diving from the shopping center across THREE lanes of Treat to the left turn stoplight, usually during rush hour.
Oh my…so many candidates. I don’t know which to choose. I kind of hate them all.
Cowell and Babel…..always accidents; knock on wood there hasn’t been one in a while.
