Concord police will be holding DUI saturation patrols this week.

From 7 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday, Concord officers will be out in force, checking for motorists under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or without a proper license.

Drivers were warned that those caught driving impaired and charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

What does saturation mean for drunk driving checkpoints around town.
Will you post the roads where check points will be located or better to surprise them.

Ray, a saturation patrol is not the same as a DUI checkpoint, it’s when there are more police out in force patrolling the streets looking for impaired drivers.

Ray….. they said “Patrols” not checkpoints… they got tired of standing around so this time they are going hunting.

How many times on a Friday evening do you see an obviously drunk driver northbound on Ygnacio Valley Road between Oak Grove in Walnut Creek and Clayton Road in Concord? I’m glad to see this saturation patrol.

I would like to know how a DUI saturation patrol will be checking for people without a proper license.
