Walnut Creek BART Station Reopens After Possible Train Collision With Person On Tracks

A possible collision involving a BART train and a person on the tracks at the Walnut Creek station shut down service in the area for more than an hour Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the transit agency.

The possible collision was reported at 10:48 a.m. after the person entered the tracks apparently of their own volition, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

Emergency responders removed the person from the trackway and an update on their condition was not immediately available, Allison said.

BART service was shut down between the Lafayette and Pleasant Hill stations during the emergency response and bus shuttles helped take riders between the affected stations.

The Walnut Creek station reopened as of 12:17 p.m. and regular service resumed, according to Allison.

Surprised the third rail didn’t get him first. One would think with all the signage and fences even a moron would have better sense.

I’m guessing attempted suicide

Let’s wait for the story to unfold.
Unfortunately some have jumped ifo trains before.
Might it be a domestic situation?
Maybe a stranger played a roll.
ET? The force?

I would love to see what the cameras might have recorded.

Was the person trying to stop the train with a “Get out of Gaza” sign?

I almost ran over a big gopher snake yesterday I didn’t notice him until he began to slither & I had to brake hard & swerve… I could not believe it but I actually didn’t hit him!
I stopped & checked then I scooted him off the roadway & back into the brush.
2nd. time that’s happened to me this Spring.
I’d be willing to check around the BART tracks to see if they hit anyone if they’re to busy to look.
