Rain Headed For The Bay Area On Saturday

Rain is headed for the Bay Area to spoil outdoor plans this weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting for wet weather to arrive in the region overnight, with most of the Bay Area seeing rain by mid-morning Saturday along with breezy conditions of 25-35 mph winds.

Higher elevations could see more than an inch of rain over the course of Saturday, with lower elevations getting up to three-quarters of an inch, according to the weather service.

As a result, many events planned around the Bay Area have had to be canceled or rescheduled to avoid the wet weather.

Forecasters say there is also a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms and hail into Saturday evening, then dry weather will return Sunday though with temperatures more than 10 degrees cooler than they have been for much of this week.

According to the weather service, a warming trend is on track through the end of next week.

Alright, can skip vegetable watering and stay in the recliner all day.

@Original G – I was thinking about you today! I wondered if you had gotten off the recliner to clear our your roof and street gutters prior to the rainstorm. Pollen from trees, particularly the ones from sycamores, wash off roofs and clog the downspouts.

Didn’t budge,
gutters have screens and four inch downspout drainage system put in 12 years ago continues working well. Checking rain gauge totals around county, several over 1 inch and St. Mary’s College, Moraga 1.48 inches.

A nice break if you are suffering from allergies.

This was a bit more than I bargained for. Yesterday the skies were deep blue and no phony cirrus clouds in view. I guess PG&E ordered this so we would turn up our thermostats. 😵‍💫

PS: I really didn’t need the stubborn wild oats to get watered. I’ve already cut them down about 3 times as well as herbicided them yet they come back. Bayer (who owns Monsanto) has indicated in an article that wild oats have become more resilient to herbicides. Oh great! 😡
