Rain, Gusty Winds Return To Bay Area This Weekend

Bay Area residents should enjoy the first week of spring and blue skies for now because this weekend it will be back to blustery rain and possible thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain and strong winds will begin on Friday and continue through Saturday in all parts of the greater Bay Area — the North, East and South Bay, the Peninsula, and Monterey and Santa Cruz counties — with chances of thunderstorms, the weather service said.

Things will taper off on Sunday, though thunderstorms are possible early in the morning and winds will stay strong, with gusts up to 30 mph.

Despite the return of precipitation, the weather service has designated the effects of the rain as minor.

The rain could accumulate up to 2 inches on parts of the coast by the end of the weekend, but will be between a quarter-inch and 1.5 inches in other regions.

Roadways will be wet and downed branches from the wind are also possible, which could mean power outages, according to the weather service.

Sweet. Range will be empty Sunday morning. Nirvana. 🎯

This weekend isn’t good for me (lots’a outdoors stuff planned) could we pencil the rain in for maybe starting next Thursday & finishing up late on Friday night? I’d sure appreciate it!

My Injun friends say it will rain on Monday too … maybe we could just have it rain like twice as hard then and that would work ok…. they say they can make it happen.

It rained so hard over night I had to break out my life raft! Now I will have even more “weeds” (actually lawn grass) in my mulch due to sloppy gardeners seeding neighbor’s lawns on a windy day. Same with many of my neighbors with mulch. Need to get a court order to have the lawn owners pay for gardeners to remove the errant grass.

Sarcasm disclaimer: of course it didn’t rain overnight and no rain clouds in site. Some artificial cirrus clouds in the sky created by fools that actually believe they are preventing global warming.
