I’m gonna say C) in case it’s some kind of sex thing I don’t understand. Which as it turns out, is a lot of things.

Best ever we had, … just a low simmer a bit longer, about 1 hour per pound.
Over at Costco for $8.99 lb.
Yum!!
Oh, … that would be (B)!

So that makes me wonder what the price of a pound was in 2019? 😎

“B”

It’s all good !

Cowellian’s first.
Y’all have a great weekend!

Did anyone see the dad yanking his daughter into his car on the side of the road today, Friday, March15th, around 6:15 PM on Ygnacio Valley Road close to Michigan Blvd in Concord? A lot of cars pulled over, some were recording. Others called police. The daughter looked around 20 years old. Hope she is OK!

How do you know it was Dad & Daughter?

He was yelling at one of the drivers who was recording him saying “why are you recording, she’s my daughter.”!

Considering the surge in human trafficking, I would have boxed him in and let the cops figure it out.

Police have his license plate, hopefully they followed up.

Best case, a minor family squabble, forgotten as soon as it happened.
Worst case you witnessed a kidnapping of a young woman you could have stopped if you had reacted. Not calling you out, I wasn’t there, but some s**t can’t be allowed, once witnessed, without explanation, no matter how uncomfortable that conversation may turn out to be. Or how foolish your over reaction might
I thought everyone knew that.
Hoping she’s okay after the fact is weak as **** is what I’m saying.

‘She asked me why
I just went on’ told her

Book report: Planet of the Apes, Pierre Boulle, 1963. The first movie was made from this book sometime about 1968. While the book is interesting the movie was more exciting. This story has more about how the human adjusted to ape society on a different planet. How he was helped to return to his space ship and then to Earth. Perhaps this is one of the few times the movie was more entertaining than the book. Not better, just more entertaining.

@DOROTHY…We watched that movie a couple of years after it came out in “Government” classes in high school….Mr. Lacuna, great teacher.

What’s going in Vallejo? It’s 9:30 at night on Froday and I am sitting in the parking lot of Costco in Fairfield. I have seen 18 CHP go speeding by with lights flashing on 80 westbound in the past 10 minutes. 18 cruisers??!!

I was at our friends house; overlooks Benicia state park. Few details in the news yet…
.
We watched the CHP Chopper out of the window and on flightradar24; it left at one point to refuel; wasn’t there very long on it’s return, but total of a few hours I think.
.
We turned on the Vallejo radio link.
still don’t know what started incident. 1 was finally in custody and they were still looking for an armed female. I-780 was closed down and we heard them talk about the area around Benicia’s Military Drive.
.
Sirens for a long time at first; many other police department came to help. We could even see many police cars coming across the Carquinez bridge into Vallejo.
.
Stopped listening just before 11pm; it was still going on…
.
guess we’ll find out some details when news papers update; or maybe not.
.
our first thought was maybe an officer was shot, because it seemed a heavy police response, but no indication of that yet…

Thanks @S!

Multiple police officers and sheriff’s deputies from Solano and Contra Costa Counties as well as officers from Highway Patrol responded code 3 – lights and siren. 2 Suspects were taken into custody and book on multiple charges including attempted murder. No peace officers were injured.

Happy weekend Claycord! I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best way to sell a non op car. /mechanics special. I am trying to help a friend. We’ve been researching some of the donation options but the reviews are not good. With the inflation and insane PG&E costs now my friend would like to make a little something by selling them. Has anyone used ebay or is there a service that you’ve used that pays and tows it away that you had a good experience with? Any places to avoid? TIA

@FYI..…Try “Cars for Kids”….I love their TV commercials, it could be played a lot more…….

Oh heck no…
Kars-4-Kids is such an annoying commercial…
.
I’ve used Make-A-Wish out of Sacramento…. a few times… it is as easy as they make it sounds.

I was being sarcastic….lol

nice sarcasm there Nyte…

Years ago I donated to the Crohn’s and IBS Foundation.

Too bad the car is non op. If it was still running and registered, your friend could have taken advantage of California’s Cash for Clunkers program. Which translates to $1k or or $1.5k if your friend is in the low-income bracket.

Here’s another CA car incentive program:

FYI – I tried donating my 86 Honda Civic once and I was shocked when they told me it was to old. At least it made everyone had a good laugh at the house, so I believed I ended up calling a local junk yard in Oakland and they took it. I say do your research and see who will give you the best price. You are a good friend!

Someone just burned through some rubber in the vicinity of San Miguel and Cowell/Monument. Enough to get the dog barking. Lasted a good minute at least. Why can’t we have nice things?

Childish behavior! Can’t stand it!

@TPC…You really need to clean dirt and stuff off the tire treads and check for good tire adhesion occasionally….just sayin’

Should anyone receive a text from Bay Area Fast Track,

it’s a scam.

BAFT does not send texts.

I called to verify.

@Abe
I’ll get an occasional e-mail with my balance information…..good to know about texts. Thanks.

SF Giants vs KC Royals 8 -5 now with Giants on top thanks to Thairo Estrada’s Grand Slam!

Watching on HULU (Arizona spring training game….) Thoroughly enjoying it!
Tacos & beer too.

Pablo Sandoval playing 3rd base (slimmed down a lot!).

Have you started planting vegetable garden yet?
What are you planting new this year?

It was 24° here earlier this week. I and my tomato plants are holding off a while longer.

I’m going to plant an “Audrey Jr.” up on the levee…. that’ll be new.
There should be enough joggers & dog walkers to keep it happy.
In the garden I’m going to add bell peppers this year & of course the usual Anaheim Chiles, Zuchinni, Yellow Squash & Cherry Tomatoes …. maybe a few corn stalks.
