Yes, I had that cough that lasted and lasted , and that I thought we’d never go away. But surprisingly I didn’t realize it had gone away until I read this article. So I guess it slowly went away after months.

I used to have a “morning gag” ( a dry heave). Oddly enough, it went away when I retired. Go figure.

A nagging cough can be caused by anxiety, and stress. After retirement, you are probably experiencing a lot less pressure and stress in your life.

DEFINITELY less stress… no phone calls, no deadlines per se, no emails, and no execs to thwart my efforts.

Gerd can cause a cough that lingers for months and months and also pollen allergies (post nasal drip)
After having a long
coughing bout, the throat is still irritated and tickles causing coughing to linger..
Keeping throat moisturized by drinking lots of water helps

Had a cough going on for 6 weeks straight. Nonstop coughing that kept me up for hours at night. 2 months later, still lingering and at times get fits of coughing. Horrible!

“Pureblood” is used twice in the comments here. Please explain use and context of this word.

Wife and I have had this cough (both in our late 40’s) since the last week of January. Both of us had a few days of flu like symptoms, (we don’t test for you know what) and neither of us have had our immune system compromised by the mNRA (although most people I know are now suffering heart and clotting issues, low energy, etc) She went to the doc last week, no CV, no fungus, a-typical pneumonia and now is on antibiotics. Definitely something nasty going around.

Last time I was sick from anything that wasn’t Irish was a head cold Jan 2017. Not a damn thing since. Though asparagus makes my pee smell funny. 😝
I have a cough right now. Maybe for two weeks. I’ve been coughing up red-tinted phlegm. Probably a chest cold.
As far as a persistent cough, I had a dry cough for two months both times I had covid. It came on a week after I got sick and went away almost two months to the day both times.

Nope
Yes. My wife. For 2+ weeks now. And it doesn’t appear to be easing up.
For myself, …. about 1 1/2 weeks, 2 months ago.
Two Friends, … weeks with a bad cough.
Not since I quit smoking.
Nice. 👊
I’ve been coughing for months. My lung feels fine.
…. yes, a health care worker at that
My daughter, since beginning of January, on and off.
Nope. Pure bloods have immune systems that are still highly functional. I feel amazing.
😝😎 That’s my boy…Donk!
Yes. Weeks. Antiobiotics, cough meds, decongestants, cough drops–nothing works.
