The Concord Police Department Traffic Bureau will be conducting an extra traffic enforcement operation today from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. This is a safety enforcement and educational operation that address issues regarding speed, modified vehicles, reckless driving behavior and other vehicle code violations. These types of operations are made possible through the support of the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). The Concord Police Department has a zero tolerance approach to reckless driving incidents in our city. Violators will be cited and/or arrested as appropriate.

Heck they can just sit on my street off Ayers, first You can hardly fit two cars down it. It built new houses at the end of it. I don’t know how many years ago but people drive up and down at like it’s a raceway or freeway. It should be about a 10 to 15 mph road. Or the cops when you need them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ya right! You’re going to need about 1,400 cops and that’s just to patrol Concord Blvd & Willow Pass Rd.

They honestly can just sit on Market Street most of the time and will catch lots of people speeding and running that stop light.

Based on my observations, the drivers are worse and more aggressive in Santa Clara County. Not that they are great here, they just aren’t as bad as our neighbors south of us.

They could get so many tickets hanging around the streets surrounding cv before and after school!!

BOB EUBANKS,

I just saw Bob Eubanks last weekend in Burbank.

Time to end carpool lanes and free up the lane to ease congestion. There is no justification for them. We were lied to about electric cars being good for the environment and rides sharing being a way to save the environment.

What does the City of Concord have anything to do with MTC and Caltrans projects?

Pretty simple connection: When you take away the right of the people to use the roads that they’ve already purchased and continue to purchase with their taxes, many of them will act out by driving recklessly.

In broader terms, when the laws seem excessive and unfair, people will stop following them.

Same reason the stuck there nose in rent control because they can.

Are we supposed to be impressed by this ?? What happened to having law enforcement patrol our streets on a daily basis? What do our tax dollars pay the PD to do when there isn’t a “special enforcement” ? EVERY DAY you see red light runner’s, speeding in excess of 10 plus MPH over the limit, windows tinted well beyond the legal limit, expired tags, loud exhaust systems beyond mildly modified…… the lack of enforcement for years, decades, has allowed everyone to do what they please, knowing that nobody will do anything about it !!!
So why post this, like we are supposed to praise the police for actually doing their job ?? If they had been doing their job all along, we might have safer roads for all.

“If they had been (allowed) to do their job all along”.

Carry on

Don’t blame the police officers. They are more than busy chasing, arresting and re-arresting the hordes criminals that are running wild and rampant in our communities. If you want to blame someone, blame the voters and politicians who made it happen.

Treat Blvd x Navarron, CPD must patrols every day and not mentioned to the social media to alert them

In front of Silverwood Elementary when school is getting out!!!! No one can get to and from their homes or emergency vehicles can’t get through due to the entire Claycord street in lined with cars every afternoon!

On Claycord Ave, both before and after school, when kids are walking, several regular speeders every day. I see the same cars, not slowing for the speed bumps, racing down the road, especially after school lets out, which makes me wonder if these aren’t school employees.

What they need to do is sit at any corner with street lights and stop all red light runners, they will get anywhere from 50 to 100 tickets a day

I got bit a couple years ago by CPD Traffic (motorcycle) on Turtle Creek for a stop sign.

I guarantee that guy made the city five figures that day.

BOB,
.
The City of Concord gets a very small percentage of traffic ticket revenue. I was last told it was under 10% of ticket revenue that went to the city, but that was several years ago.

Stay Safe Out There
& Thank You Officers !!!

How about re-educating drivers ?
REMINDER-DRIVING IS A PRIVILEDGE-NOT A RIGHT !!

V,

Most individuals are traveling, a right, and not driving, a privilege.

Another problem area, Crescent Dr off of Fairfield Ave. Very narrow (bad design?), no street lights (again…). People use it to bypass Grant by John Muir Hospital. Constant speeding. There are kids and pets. Also, there are NO SIDEWALKS! So we have to walk in the street and try not to get run over.
