BART police on Tuesday morning arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly shooting and wounding two people Friday afternoon at the Pittsburg Center BART station.

Police said they received a call Friday at 3:51 p.m. about a shooting on the platform of the Pittsburg Center station. The caller said a male suspect shot a male victim and then fled the scene.

Officers found the victim and medics transported him to a hospital, where BART officials said Tuesday he remains in critical condition.

A few hours later, a second male victim who was also shot showed up at a hospital. The second victim remains in stable condition with a wound to his leg, according to BART.

The shooting forced the station to shut down for more than four hours while investigators collected evidence. The teen suspect then surrendered to BART police detectives at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Walnut Creek.

Investigators are working to determine a motive for the shooting. At this point, police believe the shooting was not random.

BART police said the suspect will be booked into Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall.

Police said they believe he’s the only suspect in Friday’s shooting.

Walnut Creek parents need to slow their roll with futile ambition and raise their kids to act right.

all parents…not just Walnut Creek. The schools are at fault too, but raising na upstanding citizen starts at birth.
A nanny or Grandparent can”t do the job for you.

none of these parents today put their kids first. They don’t understand when you have a child its no longer about you anymore. They never did understand that, most just have abortions and live a hedonistic life until they are 30 of me me me why would you expect their behavior to be any different once they have children.

People usually adjust back to their usual lifestyle they are comfortable with so their me me me attitude always rises back to the top, these parents are far to busy caring about themselves than to care for their children and raise them right.

Walnut Creek kids have been bad news for decades. Their parents work crazy hours so they can pretend to be rich (if they were ACTUALLY rich they’d move somewhere decent). Meanwhile their kids grow up feral and prey on neighboring communities.

Larry you live in Lamorinda and sound like a chad. You telling me all the little rich kids over there are pure as driven snow. I grew up in Walnut Creek minus my 10 years in the service it’s never been that bad. Dang you had murder and house invasion in the early 2000. Come on Larry you’re better than that.

I thought gun laws don’t allow a 17 year old to possess a gun?

Obviously, then, we need MORE gun laws, lol.

“Walnut Creek resident”…Most likely a foster youth situation, either a group home or community care living arrangement…worked in social services for years, if it’s true the agency will work overtime to get this person out of this with the least amount of punishment….sadly social services is not big on cultivating personal accountability
