Rite Aid on Arnold Drive in Martinez is closing forever on Wednesday Jan.10, according to a store employee.

The reason for the closure was due to a financial restructuring plan. The company plans to shut 31 stores in a dozen states.

Rite Aid currently has other locations in Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and Bay Point.

Sadly another store closing due to criminals have more rights.

What happened to Rite Aid in Oakley?

Nothing in the story indicates that crime has anything whatsoever to do with closing the Martinez location.

Rite Aid declared bankruptcy after struggling for years to compere with larger, less indebted rivals.

How could that be? China Joes’ Bidenomics has and is creating a booming and prosperous economy.

Can you explain Bidenomics? It seems you’re taking buzzwords and reworking them to sound like you mean something.

Bidenomics: A propaganda ‘buzzword’ for China Joes economic plan that is a disastrous and dismal failure.

The one where GDP is double Trumps Failed Trade War Economic Disaster in America.

Ok Jessica Bidenomics is the ability to destroy a thriving economy in less than 2 years & gaslight people telling how great the obvious decline is. Does that resonate at all with you or are you just going to down another glass of wine & pretend it’s just a conspiracy theory?

I doubt this is the case at all. When Rite Aid bought the company, they completely changed what they carried and how much, with no consideration to the local market. They added product that no one asked for, didn’t sell, and continued to keep it on the shelves. And, for some insane reason, they never ever adjusted and continued to keep treating the company like an east coast market instead of a west coast market. When told by employees and management, reps from the company seemed to not particularly care and never changed their business model. They’ve apparently been struggling since they got here.

Why is it when upper management makes management errors it’s the consumer who ends up paying?

the principle of causation
???

It will be inconvenient to move refillable prescriptions to another pharmacy, but Walmart is located just up the road from RiteAid. The real losers are the stockholders, when the stock price goes to zero.

The stock price already went to zero. Rite Aid declared bankruptcy.

The Peter Principle. You need to know how the upper management got there. They like to act like they know what they’re doing but they usually don’t. To them it’s their stock options that count not how well the company runs. They like to grow companies beyond their ability to run one.

I use to go to both Rite Aid and CVS and Walgreen as well. However, it has been years since I have been to Rite Aid. CVS’s coupon are really great, and you can combine them (not so at Macy’a) and there are more CVS locations, if I wanted to go to Rite Aid it was always a little out of my way. I go to Walgreen on rare occasions, perhaps 3 times a year. Some things I use to get at stores like CVS and Rite Aid I now get at the $$ stores, kleenex, napkins, cleaning supplies, paper plates, gift bags, even toothpaste, handsoap and Epsom salt to soak my sore feet and back.

Years ago, Rite Aid fired my wife for being pregnant. They can shut them all down as far as I’m concerned.

I am not surprised by this. Rite Aid has been a mess from top-to-bottom for years. Thrifty/Payless wasn’t much better, to be fair.

The store remodeled a few years ago and reduced the square footage of the store. An O’Reilly Auto Parts opened in the space Rite Aid gave up. Reduced in-store sales likely due to discount store competition and internet sales competition.
.
If anyone gets their prescription medications at this location their prescriptions will be transferred to CVS on Center Avenue in Martinez beginning January 11th.

Actually, capitalism at work. Busineses that do a good job of meeting customers’ needs and desires do well. Others will struggle or fail.

@CAUTIOUSLY INFORMED.….Long’s Stores had one of the best fishing tackle sections “back in the day” for price and variety.

Surprise Walmart is a quarter of a mile up the road and another business dies.
