If you’re wondering what the building under construction is next to See’s Candy on Contra Costa Blvd., it’s a Starbucks!

This will be Pleasant Hill’s 7th Starbucks.

Here are some other numbers:

Walnut Creek = 15 Starbucks
Concord = 11 Starbucks
Pleasant Hill = 7 Starbucks
Martinez = 5 Starbucks
Lafayette = 3 Starbucks
Clayton = 2 Starbucks

Someone check our numbers to make sure they’re correct. This is important.

We absolutely do not need another Starbucks anywhere in Contra Costa County as a matter of fact they should close the low performing locations. We need other services besides coffee making.

‘they’ should close? Who is ‘they’?

I would surmise that’s a non-human pronoun for Starchucks.

@ BDML
.
Why don’t you assume the fnancial risk and open one of the needed ‘services’ you have identified?

Let’s open a Pees instead! A coffee place that actually serves real coffee.

That sounds like a public restroom, not a coffee shop.

12

I’m not going to drink Pees

MATT HELM,
.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen/heard the name Matt Helm. It’s been about 50 years since the late Dean Martin played Matt Helm in a series of movies. With everything that Hollywood remakes I’ve often wondered why we haven’t seen a return of government agent Matt Helm on the big screen.

Facetious no doubt!

Peets

Haahaha! Damn autocorrect

Of course we don’t need another Starbucks. Just don’t close the one closest to me. Or the one that I drive through. Or the one that I stop at while shopping. Or the one that I’ve always been curious about but haven’t visited yet.

Clayton has zero. That address in Clayton Station is Concord.

Clayton Station is in Clayton. Two Starbucks, standalone one in Clayton Crossing, and one in the Safeway.

There may be numerous Starbucks around, but there are very few drive-through Starbucks. This will be great for commuters, as it is on the correct side of the street for southbound (commute direction) traffic.

.
The market study indicated there is an unmet demand for a Starbucks.
.
Unlike San Francisco, PH residents don’t determine what business is or not needed. It’s referred to business market socio-economics.
.

In the future all restaurants will be Starbucks! Demolition Man obviously got it wrong! 🤖

But then I don’t go to Starbucks for the coffee (I can make better at home) but for the socializing and not that often and probably less in the future because they raised their prices again so I’ll have to raise my prices.

It’s called free enterprise. If people keep drinking it they will keep building them.I wished it would have been my brainstorm.

If only people would put money they spend there into a retirement account.
Can save and have a golden retirement or you can spend retirement under the
golden arches asking “ya want fries with that?”

6
5

Yes, save and have your future golden retirement reduced to fools gold retirement by the F..ing discriminatory taxing system of California and the federal gov’t.

You left out the FED and their upcoming Digital Currency.

Exit 12 and old timer are absolutely correct
I service every Starbucks in nor cal
If people weren’t buying it ,they won’t open another store
The markup and profit is insanely high
Personally , I don’t care for their coffee as much as Peet’s or Philz
I have it on good authority they want to be aggressive and expand their food menu

Man i love philz coffee. Philtered soul cold brew is so good.

The Starbucks in the Safeways don’t really count
Safeway/target/ etc paid a licensing fee to bring the Starbucks in the store and run them indecently from Starbucks corp.

2
1

Sorry dude, but they are decent!!! not indecent. Those are the only franchise’s that Starbuck’s allows, all of the others are company owned.

Hey, at least it’s not 7-11. Hahaha…

The basic number of Starbucks is largely irrelevant. A better metric is store density (number per city square mile) or number per capita.

5
2

Please close all 7-11’s nothing good happens there!

You guys probably won’t believe me, nobody ever does, but I’ve never been inside a Starbucks. Wasn’t intentional, the first 20 years anyway.

3
4

I was hoping it would be an Olive Garden.

Starbucks is a little better than most franchises, they pay better wages and some health insurance for employees. Yet they have refused to talk with their new union. If that keeps up, a boycott might be in order.

2

The new Starbucks is across the street from the other Starbucks.Lol

That sounds like Dunkin Donuts anywhere in Massachusetts.

Do we truly need more Starbucks ????????”

2
2

We do not…..

They are Company owned Units! Buy some stock and make a motion to the Board of Directors!!!

Starbucks is closing a lot of stores because they are in unsafe locations. At least they’re willing to invest in Pleasant Hill.

coffee is toxic it does not give you energy it forces your body into flight or fight response and that stress ages you and depletes your collagen production so you get wrinkles early on in life. You also don’t absorb certain nutrients when you drink caffeine so your body slowly becomes malnourished and its a diuretic so you can put strain on your kidneys if your not properly hydrated since you will be urinating all your fluids out.

Given, but its by MY CHOICE…

I almost never go to Starbucks, but last Sunday morning, we still didn’t have power or Internet, so we drove two towns over and were happy to find an open Starbuck that had coffee and Wi-fi.

Nah boycott starbucks
