The National Weather Service issued a high wind advisory at 3:40 p.m. Sunday.
Forecasters said offshore winds will strengthen Sunday night, tipping into wind advisory criteria. The advisory will likely last into Monday morning.
The strongest winds will occur on Bay Area mountains, with gusts between 30 and 45 mph.
Tree branches and trees may fall, and falling debris could cause power outages. High profile vehicles may have difficulty moving.
The NWS said, while valley areas will remain out of the high wind advisory, there will be a few weaker gusts that maki it to lower areas.
High pressure will build Monday through midweek, bringing a warmer drying trend.
