Two men have been charged in connection with an auto burglary in Alamo Square, a popular tourist area, and the sale of stolen property to a person in the Mission District, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office said.
Daevon Hudson, 23, of Antioch and Jose Carreno, 51, of San Francisco were arraigned Thursday and pleaded not guilty to all counts, prosecutors said Friday.
Hudson was charged with auto burglary, receiving or buying stolen property, possession of burglar tools and weapons violations. Carreno was charged with receiving or buying stolen property.
A vehicle linked to an auto burglary in Alamo Square on Tuesday was spotted by police in the area of 24th Street and Alabama Street. The driver appeared to sell items from the burglary to a man identified as Carreno, prosecutors said.
Police took Hudson and a female from Pittsburg into custody in Oakland. A search of their vehicle yielded a firearm, cash, burglary tools and more items taken in the auto burglary.
The recovered items were returned to the auto burglary victims. The female in the car was not charged.
If convicted of all charges, Hudson faces more than three years in prison, and Carreno could be sentenced to as much as three years.
