Concord police said Sunday officers were out Saturday night, cracking down on street racing activity.

Police said the operation focused on road safety through targeting reckless drivers and illegally modified vehicles.

Officers issued “numerous citations,” towed illegal vehicles, and arrested several people, though police didn’t specify why the arrests were made or say who was arrested.

Once the Highway Patrol starts in Antioch you will see a major reduction in all crime. The Highway Patrol seems to accomplish the job with out all the drama.

New law that will never happen. Partake in a sideshow- Lose your license for a year and your vehicle is impounded and sold at auction. The proceeds for the sale will go toward building more prisons and the election campaigns of hardcore, tough on crime District Attorneys. Of course none of this works if the perps are driving stolen cars and have no license to begin with.

Last night, waiting to turn left from Clayton Road a car blew through the red light (had been red for a long time).

THANK YOU EASTBAYBELLA!! I don’t understand why nothing is being done about these vehicles who must have something to hide….
I got a ticket on the freeway right after that nationwide emergency alert we got a while back,; I got pulled over because I was looking at my phone to turn it off and see what was going on yet, during that time, I’m sure dozens of cars flew by me on the side of the road with 360° blacked out tinted windows.
I’m 66 yrs old, and I don’t feel comfortable coming to a stop next to a car with tinted windows, blasting what’s supposed to be music that just sounds like the speakers are loose and no recognizable tune is coming out of them.
They need to do more checkpoints and cite those who have tinted windows. I’ve always been under the impression that this was illegal, especially with so many freeway and driveway shootings

When are they going to impound cars in side shows, arrest the crowds and ticket cars with blacked out windows and shut down the shops that are tinting them. Aren’t they against the law?

.
California window tint law restricts windshield tint on top 4 inches.
.
Front side windows must have 70% light transmission or more. Back side windows and rear window may have any tint darkness.
.
Car window tinting laws in California were enacted in 1999.
.
There are medical exemptions for darker tint (where tint is allowed)
