About 6,000 people are without power in parts of Concord and Walnut Creek this morning, according to PG&E.

The cause of the outages is under investigation, but PG&E says the power in Concord should be back on by 3:30 p.m. today, and the power in Walnut Creek should come back on by 6:45 p.m. today.

They can always blame it on the wind. Almost seven hours to get the Creeks power back on. 😢

No one could fill up at a gas station that had no power either. What exactly is your point?

Oh they never have a point. So you can just go to another gas station. We can just drive to a charger. They never have a point.

Vehicle traffic please stop at the uncontrolled intersections (with the signals not functioning).

Just a friendly reminder … When there is a power outage that effects the signals, they become “Four-Way STOPs” instead. In other words, everyone makes a complete STOP at the intersection before proceeding when safe to do so. Then they “YIELD to the RIGHT,” allowing the auto to the RIGHT to proceed first.
… Unless, of course, there is an Officer directing traffic at the intersection— which they used to do when signals weren’t working. In that case, you watch for the Officer to direct traffic.

Did they ever figure out what caused it?

Exactly! There probably is enough gas in your tank even when it registers “Empty” to make it to a gas station that’s working. These outages are spotty.
