Walnut Creek police are looking for a man who allegedly arranged to meet someone to buy something, but showed up with a gun and robbed the seller.
Police said at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday, they received a call about an armed robbery that happened at the Walden Shopping Center in the 2900 block of N. Main Street.
The victim was selling property and arranged to meet the buyer at that location. During the exchange, the buyer allegedly brandished a handgun, stole the property, then fled northbound on N. Main Street in a maroon sedan.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Anyone with information about the incident can contact Walnut Creek police at (925) 943-5844 or call their anonymous tip line at (925) 943-5865.
“….arranged to meet someone to buy something, but….”…..We used to take that kind of business under the Temp/Time Tower at Montgomery Wards in PH in the 70s. Four-finger $10 Mexican dirt weed in sandwich bags, thank heaven when sinsemilla showed up.
You paint a vivid picture of 1978-1982 NYTEMVR, 👊
With all the parties he attended, we wonder how Bill Clinton managed to hold his breath from 1978-1982.
It’s a curiosity whether or not this guy was an undocumented alien or not. If you have 8 million slip in the border there is going to be pressure economically on them. Despite all the free food and housing and medical being provided, I guess some criminal activity may come… especially those indebted to the cartels.
Just another criminal from a criminal country.
😂 every time . Of course he’s legal . Paisas don’t use apps and meet with gringos in white areas cmon lol
Uh huh. What makes you think the victim was white?
If you are daft enough to do this, at least meet the person in a PD parking lot. Trust no one. An unfortunate truth.
I never have found the need to sell anything but if I did I would meet the buyer in the police parking lot. Close to the front door..
@Ricardo Excellent ideal. Best answer of the year award goes to Ricardo. It should be the thing to do.
After I wrote that I remembered they have a big lobby in the Walnut Creek police station. Right next to the desk.
I don’t meet anybody I don’t know for anything unless it is at the Concord Police Station. Inside they have benches and I tell the person at the front desk why I’m waiting there. Even if it is something like an employee of the Bureau of Automotive Repair. You just never know. A few years ago this was recommended, especially if an exchange of money might be involved.
The scammer got scammed.

I heard it was a fake rolex being sold. Haha to the robber! 😂
If he allegedly met someone to buy something, why wasn’t he allegedly a man ?
The scammer got punched in the face. Glad to hear that both criminals got screwed.
A guy tried to rob me in Greece once and I blurt laughed. Didn’t mean too, but his English was terrible and I honestly didn’t know what he wanted, thought he was asking me for directions and when I finally figured it out, it made me laugh.
Friends have told me they’ve had good luck selling things on Facebook Marketplace, and that it’s all just one big happy community.
Feeling incredulous, I got on the site and surfed around a bit. It was amazing! A huge selection of brand new power tools still in the box! And better yet, all selling for half what they would cost in the warehouse shopping tool department!
Golly gee, I sure hope none of that stuff is stolen………
RE:::OP ::Rollo Walnut Creek is considered more of a white community dughhh! And why would you all be talking about being at the police department. Why even want to put yourself in a stupid position of talking on someone else’s stupidity??? This is Stupid!
Pleasant Hill Police Station has a spot for buying/selling in their parking lot that is monitored by the dispatchers inside the department.
