The following is from the Walnut Creek Police Department:

Walnut Creek Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place on Wednesday evening, October 18, 2023. Shortly after 9:30, the Walnut Creek Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery near the intersection of Botelho Drive and Locust Street. Two people walking from dinner were approached by two male adults, one of whom pointed a handgun at the couple and demanded their possessions.

The victims described the suspects as two black male adults in their late teens or early twenties, both wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks. There were two other male associates standing by a white sedan and all four males fled in this vehicle toward Broadway Plaza. Officers searched the area and surrounding agencies were notified, but the suspect vehicle was not located.

Didn’t they learn anything from the dude in NY that was walking home from a wedding at 4:00 am when he ran into Stabby McGee???

I’m shocked! Shocked to find this going on in Walnut Creek!

Instead of looking for them in the creek put up a road block at the tunnel. How hard is that to figure out?

Then again, some even say that they should build a wall between Concord and Walnut Creek, as supposedly if Walnut Creek did not have a neighbor like Concord, it would be as great as Lamorinda, and The San Ramon Valley.

It is my understanding the residents on Savannah Circle in Walnut Creek were the ones who mandated that the gate which separates their subdivision in Walnut Creek from the campus of Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord locked at all times (the homes on Savannah Circle and the Ygnacio Valley High campus are separated by a creek which also forms the Concord/Walnut Creek city limit line), because YVHS students were causing problems on Savannah Circle, and similarly, I have heard that many people who live on Weaver Lane in Walnut Creek across the street from Oak Grove Middle School in Concord (Weaver Lane forms the Concord/Walnut Creek city limit line off of Minert Road there) have complained about Oak Grove Middle students fighting and acting aggressive on the Walnut Creek side of Weaver Lane.

As you might be aware, Oak Grove Middle and Ygnacio Valley High Schools are the secondary schools which serve Concord’s Monument Blvd. area which is why many who live in the middle class tracts of south Concord, and the upper-middle class tracts of northeast Walnut Creek on the north side of The Contra Costa Canal either move into homes with higher performing schools, or send their kids to private schools. In fact, for many years, many of those in northeast Walnut Creek have been fighting to access to Foothill Middle and Northgate High, as they feel as Walnut Creek residents, they should have priority access to Walnut Creek schools.

Only a matter of time until one of these thugs will pick on the wrong person or persons, those who have a valid CCW and are able to utilize it appropriately…

OK SID, but first you gotta get one… it’s so easy! Only takes a couple months, $$$, some tests, training, psych evaluation…. well heck, take a look.

Already have one…

13

I believe Sid meant people that has pre-existing CCW 👍

…no surprise… its what the neighborhood has come to but no one at the offices want to admit it… Sr Editor of the EB Times does… he said it’s not even enough news to put it the paper anymore…. true story

They also don’t like putting in the paper when it casts a negative view of certain people groups who are doing all these crimes.

That’s why I stopped reading that worthless rag a couple of years ago.

Bingo! They’d rather put citizens at further risk than address the problem.

waiting to hear someone say they shouldn’t be walking around with possessions…

Why were they even walking around Walnut Creek at night. They were just asking for it. Probably the way the were dressed. 😂

16
19

The victims weren’t asking for it.
Our elected Government officials are asking for it. This is what they want. They like this. If they didn’t, they would have done something about it already.

20
6

I know. I was being sarcastic.

16
4

I read it that way also.
I just couldn’t resist pointing out our elected officials prefer crime to acknowledging their inaccurate narrative.

Not all all surprised by this…is anyone? I’m sorry to write that it seems like easy pickings around here. So many designer bags and nice jewelry out and about…and why not? People should not feel they can’t walk around with things they’ve worked hard for. All I want is for some consequences for these crimes.

“Free Range Children” are more likely to walk into a spinning airplane propeller, or step in front of a locomotive etc. As such there will be a certain amount of natural attrition.
“Natural Selection” has been replaced by “Natural Attrition”.

It’s unfortunate the victims did not have concealed carry we would be reading a completely different story unfortunately these are the stories we’re going to hear more about due to district attorneys that refuse to prosecute criminals and a completely wide open border that is welcoming even terrorists things will get much worse before they get better sorry to be the bearer of bad news stay vigilant

I am shocked that they are actually investigating because I thought we needed to let the criminals have our stuff because they are “sad” and “poor?” I am also shocked they DARED to mention the skin color of the criminals! Shocked!

Robbery????Armed??? In Walnut Creek???? Wow! No way! Doesn’t this happen almost daily there?

6
3

It’s weekly, but the city goal is daily.

I believe, the DA said, they needed it for their Family..

Reacting to the political climate of CA ? ? ?
Liberal buzz words reparations, equity, redistribution . . . . . .
Create thru repetitious rhetoric an us them mentality, take what you are owed.

Aww… the community members were just taking out an advance on their reparations.

As a lifelong resident of Walnut Creek, 76 years, we no longer shop or go to lunch/dinner in Walnut Creek. Just do not feel safe day or night. The police are asked to stand down by the city council and the useless DA Becton will not prosecute.

17
4

My understanding is to be on the city council, you need to show proof you have been castrated. That being said, the only option left is for them that govern be victims of the government they created.

9
2

Sad, isn’t it?
Probably the safest way to have dinner in Walnut Creek is to treat it like San Francisco. Uber to your restaurant, enjoy a nice meal, and don’t step outside until your Uber ride home is at the curb.

4
1

Tell us ,when did the city council ask the police to “stand down” ?

1
4

Remember when all those looters pretending to be rioting in honor of George Floyd were fighting with each other over stolen merchandise in front of W.C. Target? It was then.

8
1

Are you kidding me!!!! Get your head out of the sand. May 31, 2020 when the BLM riots were taking place in Broadway, the police had to stand and watch as looters rampaged through Walnut Creek. The mayor and city council told them to stand down!!!!

8
1

Did you know racial profiling is just statistically good police work based on facts. If we said that police couldn’t pull over every suspected criminal person just because of their race that’s crazy. We train officers to identify possible crimes using their experience and expertise and then tell them well sorry we can’t bother a certain group or they will cry about it.

13
2

We need a new city council, mayor, and police chief. Enough it enough with these do-nothings.

11
1

.
Perhaps you should run for office and show the rest of us how it’s done.
.
Step up or shut the +*@/ up.

I would, but they aren’t accepting applications from straight Caucasians. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

All by design! The Coudenhove Kalergy Plan is in full effect, yet the vast majority of the citizenry have no idea what the politicians’ endgame is.

4
1

I did a search on “The Coudenhove Kalergy Plan. Wow! Very scary stuff. Tells a lot about “The Big Picture”. YIKES

2
1

I’m impressed by the “founder’s” name and title…..Richard Von Nikolaus Eijiro, Count of Coudenhove-Kalergi, that’s a mouthful.

walnut creek pd doesn’t care, they’re never around when crime happens, i never see them patrolling the streets. Maybe up some more units on patrol.
