Why hasn’t the ‘Ebony Alert System’ been activated?

From text of the bill originally submitted, SB-673
“The law enforcement agency may consider the following factors to make that determination:
(1) The missing person is between 12 to 25 years of age, inclusive.”

.
To me an age cutoff on low end makes absolutely not sense.
Then again DEM super majority controlled state legislature passes bills yearly not well thought out.
WHY an amendment was not offered to eliminate low age limit speaks to tendency of rubber stamping what ever Bill flies past their desk.
.
Urge black voters to demand an explanation from their elected representatives.

I hope Empress reunites with her family as soon as possible. I am sure they love Empress and miss her very much. May God watch over her and protect her while she is away. There should be much more media play concerning this missing youngster. Please Empress go home, everyone misses you very much. You and your family are in our prayers.

Why hasn’t the Ebony Alert have gone off on my phone yet? She’s been missing since the 7th and the law went into effect on the 8th. This is the first time I’ve seen about this girl and today is the 15th. So the Ebony Alert doesn’t care about missing Black children…? I do hope she is found safe and unharmed.

Can we get a better picture please, so we can see more of the child’s face? Poor baby, hope she makes it home safe

why was there not amber alert?

If everyone is to be treated equally, than why have a Black Alert? Isn’t an amber alert enough?

I don’t know how to transfer photos to Claycord but if you go to the Richmond PD Facebook page and click on recent posts there are two, one from the PD and the other from Empress’ grandmother. Why it hasn’t been on the local news sights or an Amber Alert I don’t know.

Mr Mayor, would you find out for us why the alert was put on the PD’s FB page but no amber alert or press releases were made. How many people would routinely look on a police Fb page, how would the public even know to look for this child? Is that where you got the story?

Apparently for this child, neither Amber or Ebony alerts are helping. I know let’s start another alert system. Pray for her safe return. I hope she is found safe.

Empress Watson…what a wonderful name. And that smile.
