Spare The Air Alert Issued Through Thursday In The Bay Area

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued a Spare the Air alert that will be in effect through Thursday because of wildfire smoke that has drifted into the region from further north in California and Oregon.

The district had previously issued an air quality advisory through Wednesday because of the wildfire smoke, but upgraded it to the Spare the Air alert, which bans burning wood, fire logs or other solid fuel on the days it is in effect.

If people smell smoke, they are encouraged to stay inside with windows and doors closed and to set air conditioning units and car vent systems to recirculate to prevent outside air from coming inside.

People can find the latest air quality readings in their area at https://fire.airnow.gov/.

Blame liar Newsom for dragging his feet on fire prevention and peeing our money away on his BS projects.

Let’s save some money and disband BAAQMD, we can all just look at the website. I did this morning and decided not to start a fire in my fireplace.

Looks like everyone here will have to dust off those old boxes of KN-95s. Or not…

Nope. Barely in smoke in the air. Often that little haze would not get an alert. Your neighborhood microclimate may differ.

I can’t take any of this seriously. When we have cars with modified mufflers causing noise and air pollution. Our Govenor reduced fines for these individuals. So modifing their exhaust if caught means nothing. Homeless are allowed to have fires anytime and anywhere. They are exempt from spare the air days.
