A San Ramon teen is in custody after allegedly shooting at a car filled with people Wednesday night on Bollinger Canyon Road, police said.

The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. on Bollinger Canyon just south of Harcourt Way, according to San Ramon police.

Shots were reportedly fired from one vehicle toward another car that had five people inside, police said.

The car was hit by bullets but no one inside suffered significant injuries.

The suspect’s vehicle was tracked down using evidence from the scene and the city’s camera network. Early Thursday, police began covert surveillance on the vehicle and the suspect’s home.

Just after 1 p.m. Thursday, detectives arrested the suspect, a 17-year-old San Ramon resident, on suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect will be booked into the Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the San Ramon Police Department at (925) 973-2700.

All that’s lacking is the soft on crime misdemeanor plea bargain.

Yeah, but will he be let out right away? He’s probably already out and running around with his gun!

Don’t know the particulars to this case, crime is done by those of all income levels and all backgrounds.
Speaking specifically to those believing San Ramon is all upper middle class it’s simply not the case. All of the new condo and apartment complexes in the newer area of San Ramon (Dougherty Valley area) were built to accommodate all income levels with a percentage specifically for those with lower incomes and those receiving gov. assistance. There is one entire complex specifically for middle and below wage earning families. Additionally many of the expensive large homes in the area house multiple families. Worked for the city for over a decade and was not uncommon to find many generations of a family under one roof. (Grandparents, their adult children and their kids)

That’s a big assumption there. There is no hint as to where the shooter lived or what socio economic group his family is a part of. Don’t be surprised if he comes from a very well to do family who has no control over their kid.

@ITSME- obviously you didn’t read the couple of key points of my post and jumped to your own assumption-
#1 I said I knew nothing of this incident
#2 I said crime is committed by all levels of society
#3 when speaking about the residents of SR I stating my own observations, which was a response to Dr. Jellyfinger’s light hearted post implying the shooter was well off

Growing up all the boys in the neighborhood had cap guns, played army and cops and robbers. Then it was decided that little boys should not play with guns. Now we have more gun violence. How do you figure?

I had a holster with two pistols. They were revolvers and the caps you used were a disc that fit the revolving chamber in front of the hammer. I think there was eight caps on a disc so you had to reload more than a cap gun that fired rolls of caps. Also had hat, bandana, and a rope. The only thing I didn’t have was a horse. Lived on a farm and had no horse. Am I sounding like Joe yet?

@RICARDOH….My Mattel Fanner six-shooter with the Swivel Shot holster was pretty badass. No horse either but my Roy Rogers hat and my Justin boots made up for it, I was more like a 1950s mini- “Urban Cowboy”.

I’d love to see how he reacts if someone who was a trained firearms user, was actually shooting back. Everybody wants to be a big guy until it’s time to do big guy stuff.
