The following is from the Concord Police Department:

Nightshift patrol officers during the weekdays AND weekends were on it.

Last night, CPD officers made a traffic stop last and with K9 Hancock’s help, they found two loaded guns and made two arrests.

Earlier this month, a CPD officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. The officer discovered the driver had no license and had an open alcoholic beverage inside the car.

A search revealed a loaded short-barrel rifle, ammo, and extended magazines for various firearms.

The driver faces weapons charges and was transported to the county jail.

Just think of what they could find with stop and frisk. These are not normal times right now.

The supporters of criminals and enablers of crime disagree with you.

Was the driver a prohibited person from owning guns? Those guns have no illegal characteristics and California legal mags. Granted they were not in a locked container in the car.

SBR (short barreled rifle) requires a NFA registration and extended mags if proven not grandfathered or purchased during “freedom” week “hard to do” are banned. Also Loaded weapon in public PC. 25850 “cite and release” and out on the street without blinking anyway.

There are multiple high capacity magazines. Which are illegal. I for one am glad those guys don’t have their weapons today. Driving around drinking a beer with loaded weapons…great citizens.

@Robert-Ownership or possession of magazines with capacities greater than 10 are NOT illegal. Read the post above. There are probably tens of thousands that were legally purchased during Freedom MAGAzine Week in 2019. Also many tens of thousands were likely grandfathered prior to the magazine limits law being enacted.

Also, this is a California thing. A few other states have them, but a majority do not.

Above is only in response to fake news.

I’ve never felt that carrying a gun was going to make me safer. I always felt like it was more likely to get me in trouble then to save me from being robbed or assaulted or shot.

@SCHMEE….What happens when your scary black gun just jumps up from the table and starts shooting people, what then?… I read about that all the time.

That’s true; for those that don’t believe in defending themselves and their own lives.

OK. You do you.

Most likely catch and release by DA Becton who complains about guns but does not prosecute criminals.

Driving with no driver’s license, while drinking, and toting guns! Seems to be the norm for our area lately!
Funny, California has the strictest gun control in the nation, but all the crooks are running around with guns! I’m beginning to think that is true, that only the good people are denied the guns.
I’m getting more and more conservative everyday saying how the liberal program s are absolutely backfiring on us! But they’ll never admit it only push it further!

Any adult and legal California resident who is not a prohibited person may possess and purchase a firearm. According to UC Davis, about 4.2 million Californians own 20 million firearms (including 9 million handguns). That means 1 out of 4 Californians is a gun owner.

Seems your premises and fears, Badge1104, are not in synch with reality.

Names and faces withheld to protect the criminals. (okay to blame the guns)

How postings names and pictures like in the old days , so we can be on guard to protect ourselves from these gun toting fools. NO I DON’T FEEL SAFE IN MY OWN TOWN. MAD AS HELL.

Not the first time K9 Hancock has been the hero. Man’s best friend.

Good job LE! Becton greased the revolving door I’m sure … Calif gun laws are penalizing the law abiding folks… perps do whatever they want… won’t Newscum get it through his head?

But they left off the ending:
“The driver faces weapons charges and was transported to the county jail”…. and promptly released.
