The higher elevations in Death Valley are cooler. Scotty’s Castle, which is located at the northern end of Death Valley at an elevation of 3,000 ft, averages 101 in August, and 61 in February. When I was there a few years ago, it was in the high 70s. That was in November.

Some of my neighbors are landscaping their yards like ccc is like death valley. Not wild about the Arizona look.
