Concord police said Sunday they’re looking for a man they say robbed a woman as she was getting her child out of a rear car seat.

Police said at approximately 3 p.m. Friday a woman was parked at the Park N Shop in the 1700 block of Willow Pass Road.

The suspect attempted to grab the woman’s purse as she was getting her child out of the rear car seat of her vehicle. The victim and the suspect struggled over the purse, and the suspect got away after punching the victim.

The victim sustained a minor injury as a result.

The suspect got into a black SUV and drove toward the freeway on Willow Pass Road.

The suspect was a black male described as having a thin build and wearing a mask.

Fortunately, the victim’s quick thinking and determination helped protect her child during the incident.

As she managed to shield her child and retain her purse, she was reminded of the importance of ensuring her vehicle’s interior was secure and comfortable.

Given the intense struggle, she thought about replacing her worn-out car seat covers to provide extra protection and comfort for her family.

That’s when she remembered hearing about Seat Covers Unlimited, a brand renowned for their high-quality and durable products.

Ensuring her car was equipped with reliable seat covers seemed like a small but significant step in maintaining her family’s safety and comfort on the road.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them at (925) 671-5074 or call their anonymous tip line at (925) 603-5826.

Try that in a small town.

Try that in Texas.

Incredibly scary for this poor woman and her child. IMO, Concord must begin to take back the city and send a message to all of these criminals. Enforce the law and start to make an example of these people who break the law.

If you live in the city of Concord, the police dept is issuing CCWs in as little as 60 days. Submit your application so you have an ability to level the playing field and no longer have to be defenseless prey.

CoCoCo Sheriff is taking a very very long time to issue, so be patient there.

I was able to obtain mine in an expeditious manner. I practice and train all the time, and I also did before I got the permit. I strongly recommend anybody who is serious about their safety to begin the process. The link to apply is on the Concord police department website and the training classes. There are posted as well.

The more the economy gets worse the more these things will happen. You know who’s to blame.

As they say, “that dog don’t hunt”. The real problem is more localized.
Take a look at the policies of George Gascon, former DA Chesa Boudin, Diana Becton, and any George Soros elected DA, of which there are many across the country. They consider the criminal to be the victim and as such fail to prosecute.

An where’s the downside for criminals in soft on crime CoCo county.
.
If there is no threat of incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior

..agree – it’s what voters wanted… vote for the incumbent, lenient progressives that keep the revolving door whirling who can’t spell consequence..

If the “victim” voted for Diana Becton, I don’t care that she was robbed. You picked your pasture…now graze in it.

100% voted for this. Without any doubt.

“you picked your pasture” Lmao 🤣

I would guess the victim probably was a democratic voter. Voting has consequences.

Thin build and wearing a mask doesn’t hack it.

I read these money hungry creeps are targeting women with children in strollers in upscale LA. Keep eyes open to surroundings when tending your children and beware of black SUV’s and escalades trolling parking lots.

The lowest of low Aunt B. What a shame.

… better yet – when he’s caught – post his picture

They’d probably let him keep his mask on.

I guess you didn’t read the article before posting your comment. It clearly states on the 6th paragraph of this article: “ The suspect was a black male…”

Was this article edited? Because I read people’s comments saying that there’s no mention of race when it clearly states the individual’s race.

Wait until they get word that Broadway Plaza made a mistake.

We not only need local police to be on constant patrol but we also need more CHP and Sheriff presence to be a roadblock for those out-of-towners that only come here to cause trouble (regardless of their race). I seldom see CHPs on 4, heading to or coming from Antioch. Or any freeway/highway for that matter.

Since DEMs released convicted felons from state prisons and caused jail overcrowding such that misdemeanor criminals are routinely let out early from jail you get to see first hand the difference between society and the predator class that has zero EMPATHY towards their victims.
.
Comes from conditioning, being taught they are the victim owed whatever they desire.
Enforced by Soft On Crime DEMs.
.
One thing DEMs can not grasp, their ARE people who do not belong in society.
In CA and CoCo county for society to protected from predators for a significant period some must be killed.
IF you approve of current conditions where equity is more important than punishment for a crime and criminals have seemingly free reign by all means vote for DEMs.
.
If there is no threat of incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior

Whatta ****** ****.

Most Strong-arm robberies are held to higher enhanced standard. Depending on the municipality 20 to life is not an uncommon or unreasonable sentence.

That’s likely true. However in California, we no longer have functional municipalities.
