ConFire responded to 58 fires Tuesday night, nearly all of them believed to have been caused by illegal fireworks.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District reported the totals on social media early Wednesday, including that one serious injury to a victim’s hand was caused by fireworks in Martinez. Officials suspect that 50 of the blazes were caused by fireworks.

Fire crews around the Bay Area were busy as well, but no major fires were reported. Totals for other locations were not immediately available.

UNDOCUMENTED fireworks.
Let’s be consistent with our language.

I am really surprised UNDOCUMENTED has not been considered racist and censored from society.
You’re ABSOLUTELY 100% correct ANON! All of the undocumented fireworks…..mostly by undocumented people! Here we go!

Go after the idiots doing fireworks in areas that are worrisome for fires near hills, brush or otherwise, but leave the those doing it safely at their homes or elsewhere alone.

Our country has fast become chock full of whiners and PC nimrods!

All sense of fun and tradition is quickly being destroyed by these jerks and their duly (s)elected political hacks and or Gov agency appointees that are supposed to be serving or representing the people.

Nearly all of them fireworks related? No not so..half a dozen were homeless encampments, another deck fire was a fire pit cause and a few others not fireworks related.
Yes a lot of them were fireworks related but Claycord has seemed to gone over the deep end in phrasing their reported to sway the anti fireworks crowd into a feeding frenzy.
Well it’s over for the most part over till next year (cept for New Year’s Eve of course), and the same will happen just as it did this year and no advertising, social media scare tactics about fines, jail time and hotlines to be ratted out by neighbors none of that is going to work it never will it never has.
Honestly not only clay Claycord but all sorts of media outlets I’ve never heard so many whiners and cry babies about fireworks in my whole life it’s ridiculous. The next thing that we’re probably going to hear is fireworks are racist and must be stopped and will not be tolerated by the woke movement.
I’ll close with this comment
GET OVER IT ALREADY.

Some concerning situations in the State Streets:

Blatant setting off of fireworks in the intersection of Michigan and Louisiana. As of this morning, the people who did this hadn’t even cleaned up their mess.

Vegetation fire at the vacant house on Michigan near Nebraska. Fire Department was able to put it out before the entire vacant house caught fire. How can the city of Concord allow this eyesore and fire hazard to be vacant so long?

I live in the state streets. It reminded me of when I was in the 1989 Gulf War. Bombs exploding above me and burning debris raining down. I remember being a new paramedic in Oakland for the 1991 Oakland Hills Firestorm. This reminded me of what happened there. I was scared last night. I am retired from public safety now. These Buffoons who do this are clueless to what the consequences are if their actions cause a major fire. All should be prosecuted when caught. Especially with those huge Mortar type fireworks.
