Today’s question:
QUESTION: What is one job you always wanted to do, but didn’t do for one reason or another?
Talk about it….
I always wanted to play music but I am not talented that way “bummer” But I guess if you love your job you never work a day in your life so I am happy with what I have “will retire from it”
I was a big fan of Pete Seeger, thought he was very lucky making a good living singing wonderful songs. I love music, but can’t carry a tune, so in the same boat as you.
Ive been in performing , touring and recording bands for 35 yrs. Its hard work and the industry is not what it was in the 70s and 80s…
I love all muscians that are great at their craft. Eric Clapton playing with Cream Sunshine of you love, many others. Sorry a bit off topic. However, to be able to play an instrument or sing and then perform must be the absolute tops. To name a few, Whitney Houston, Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, mamy ohters.
Pit Master
Being a cook at Olive Garden kidding.
Id love to work at a marijuana dispensary.
Retirement.
Living it but unfortunately don’t think the company will outlast me. 32 years ago I said I wanted to retire from there.
Good run but probably won’t happen.

Darn!, … It’s frustrating with/when companies downsizing or change.
It’s happing so much now.
Had a dream job.
Industrial electrician an for last 20 years of it did nothing but projects upgrading control panels, motor drives, large operator control pulpits, etc. Drove in had own shop, internet access, tall back chair chair all set up for after breakfast naps, planned my jobs, worked OT at my discretion, bosses left me alone and nobody complained when stereo was cranked up. Other plus was trouble shooting the industrial process and all involved controlling parts.
.
Then US Steel went and ruined it, announcing closure of the Pittsburg, CA plant at end of 2023. Took all the fun out of going to work . . . . so retired after 45 years.
If work isn’t fun there’s no sense going.
.
I do miss large fully outfitted maintenance shop next door, worst of all is missing out on my coworker interactions. . . . . . . . . You can’t find that level of entertainment on daytime TV.
@ ORIGINAL G ~ Darn!
Circus Clown ???

Astronaut ( I know 🤣) … next Oceanographer
Already retired and that is even better than former favorite job that no longer exists.
I’ve had several jobs that I loved, as well as some that I’ve tolerated, but since retiring, I’m in my happy place as a full-time, unpaid genealogist.
Mayor of Claycord.
Defense Minister of North Korea
.
Bass player for Iron Maiden.
.
Alas, it’s Steve’s band and he’s unlikely to pass it down to the next generation.
.
Already had it and retired at 54 from it. What work when you no longer have to, there are too many things to enjoy not having a job anymore even tho I loved it.
I told my children to think of the one place in the world that makes them the happiest, the place they dream of going on vacation and to move there. Then find a job and everyday your living in paradise.
Love to be a city council member. So I can get my raise.
Stand-up comedy … actually started already here in Cambodia at one of the dozens of open mics … have four 5-minute sets under my belt … of course some west-coasters from Portland were triggered by my old-school style of joke writing. #sigh
Not sure about a dream job, I like dealing with the public and I like selling. I’m retail right now, I didn’t mean for that to be long term, but when my insurance business collapsed in 2008, I had to get a steady job. I didn’t mean to stay more than a year, but somehow I got comfortable and stayed. I love my customers and I enjoy giving them excellent customer service. I enjoyed the insurance business (long term care and annuities). My dream was to start my own cake business, I make some killer brownies and cheesecakes, secret add a little liquer to the recipe and you got something unusual. However, by the time I got that idea I didn’t have the money to get it started and I wasen’t about to borrow money for something like that. I was making Kahlua brownies with cream cheese frosting, and milk chocolate brownies with nutella and orange liquer, and my then teenager daughter and her friends were like why can’t we get something like that at Starbucks, but a good recipe and an idea is not enough you need a fair amount of money to get it off the ground, If I had thought of it a couple of years earlier I would have had the money to give it a try, but by the time I got the idea I didn’t feel like I had enough to take a chance. So I gave it up and got an ordinary job that paid my bills (I do have other income, retail does not pay enough to live independtly in this area) and it is okay.
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Who dream of working?
Probably anyone not named Rockefeller or Kennedy. Working isn’t bad, it feels good to make a contribution, as long as you have a balance. I like working, but also enjoy my free time.
