Pittsburg police said Sunday they arrested more than a dozen people during a recent bust.
Officers arrested 14 people, towed five vehicles and recovered $5,200 in stolen merchandise, $3,200 of which was from Pittsburg stores such as Winco, Walmart, Burlington and Target.
The rest was from Old Navy, Children’s Place, Forever21 and Macy’s.
Police said two of the suspects admitted to being boosters (professional thieves, stealing for others to profit) who normally target department stores in San Francisco. Police towed their vehicle found the additional $2,000 inside several Sears plastic bags, which were already separated and set to be delivered to their customers.
Police said the suspects were arrested on suspicion of felony shoplifting and possessing stolen property.
Sounds good. Now if they can only keep them off of the streets. The second most important part.
Ya ok. Not with our wonderful DA.
I’m skeptical too! Great police work and effort but the district attorney and or liberal judges will just let him go again. Especially if they are of certain people groups they will be released for sure. Supposed compation & restitution
As a former small business retail store owner, who was targeted for theft constantly, this is music to my ears!
Burn them at the stake. At the park for all to see.
True they may all be right back out on the street within a short period of time but they lost their merchandise, their cash, their cars so all in all it was a good bust.
It wasn’t their merchandise to loose; they didn’t pay for it! I would bet that wasn’t the 1st time they stole anything. Bail-I would hope that would be a lot, and jail time? If not, what to stop them from doing it again?
You missed the point…why am I not surprised
@Max. Well, the title is “booster” or “professional thief”. So, yeah, definitely not their first time.
Names, names, names!
And mugshots please.
Good job Le! Now Becton do your job and prosecute to the full extent!
Becton needs a verified account on Claycord so she can give honest updates of her planned actions. “Nope, not losing 12 voters”
Anyone thing for a second there will be substantial time incarcerated ? ? ? ?
Ya, . . . me neither, not in CoCo county.
Please don’t name them. Just tell us what they were wearing .
Good i hope the PDP keep the jerk for as long as they can we do not need him around
.
Justice for these lowlife thieves includes only three things… a tall tree, a rope, and a chair.
.
A TRUE DETERRENT.
.
Hopefully they towed their cars to Fresno.
Society is so far gone that these cons are considered professional thieves and they have a title (Boosters) to go along with it as a way to legitimize and even possibly excuse their actions. Calling them professional thieves is an insult/mockery to those who professionally earn an honest living.
I’m surprised out of 14 arrest no possession of any guns
Are they out yet?
It’s no secret that Retail Theft has skyrocket due to Prop 47, Soros-back D.As, and woke Judges. I always applaud the great police work, but it has almost become a joke how quickly these thieves are released and charges either reduced or dropped which only emboldens them to keep on ripping off stores.
Nip it in the bud!
They should also fine the folks who the goods in the Sears bags were to be delivered to!
