The John Muir National Historic Site will celebrate John Muir’s 185th birthday and the 53rd anniversary of Earth Day in Martinez on Saturday.
The celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the John Muir National Historic Site at 4202 Alhambra Ave. Organizers say there will be food, historical displays and live music.

Earth Day is celebrated on April 22; John Muir was born on April 21. However, Vladimir Lenin was born on April 22.
